Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe breakfast was unfortunately not what you expect from a hotel in this price range. Hardly any choices, cheap products and the same every day. On top, staff that doesn't know what to do because they have no supervisor that knows the business. If you come half an hour before they close, you get only the leftovers. The rooms are lovely but they urgently need refurbishing, especially the whole electric system. If the hotel management was better they could easily make guests enjoy this wonderful hotel by taking care of the little things: Flowers and fruit in the room, a little decoration and candles in the unique spa, a better breakfast, a welcome drink and something to eat from the kitchen for guests arriving after 10.00 pm would already make a big difference.
Fantastic location in the middle of the jungle, by the river. Wonderful spa!!

AustraliaHard to find anything to fault. If I was to nitpick I would have liked more vegetarian options on the hotel menu.
Amazing property that had a beautiful garden much larger than I expected. There was lots to do and one could easily spend time there just relaxing and walking around the grounds.

IndonesiaThere is no bidet spray and due to renovations, the room next to mine was very dark, so it made it uncomfortable to sit outside enjoying the sounds of the night
Breakfast and dinner menu is very good. The facilities and rooms are actually very comfortable, just needs a little improvement. I really like the peace and beauty of nature and its atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and very helpful.

MalaysiaThe swimming pool was a bit run down, and as they are still recovering after the pandemic and the lockdowns, a few minor services are not available (like laundry), but there are a lot of those services close by, so it wasn’t a big problem.
The view is fantastic as the hotel is on a hill, right at the forest. It is absolutely breathtaking. The massage area is one of the most beautiful ones I’ve ever seen and the staff is so friendly. It is also located within walking distance of most interesting locations in Ubud.

AustraliaI had forgotten how challenging the steps are to the accommodation & Facilities. This needs to be mentioned on the site brochure. A Shuttle bus was mentioned but not yet working. Taxis weren't always available. No Facilities within the hotel to purchase soft drinks, coffee or beer. Very slow service at the reception desk

AustraliaI was run down, the rooms especially needed work, particularly the bathroom. The shower was a step in bath which would be difficult to get in to for most older or less able people. The bathroom had mouldy seals around the bath and tiles, there was a leakage in the tiles onto the floor. The bath mat picked up black marks every time you put it on the floor, There was a pull across shower curtain which was white but pink fro mould at least 30cm at the bottom. fibres fell from the thatched roof, leaving the basin covered in black fibres, and more than once had it in my eye. Something was eating the picture above the bed causing debri to fall onto the bedside table and into any tea or coffee you sat there. The first night there was a cat stuck in the thatched roof which miaowed all night in distress. The manager was less than helpful and even appeared annoyed when we went to get help for the cat and discuss a room change. After being told there were no rooms we were eventually shown two others but they were dungeon like and in. more need of repair and upgrade than the ones we had. There are a lot of stairs at this property which are unavoidable and it is not suitable for anyone with even mild mobility issues. The A/C was old but efficient. The towels were greyish white and smelt smoky.
location, environment and most of staff were lovely.

New ZealandThe hotel rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade - we had two adjoining rooms, they were both the same. The bedding was worn, wardrobe doors didn't close and the bathroom was really grim - mold everywhere, it was really disappointing. There were rats scurrying around in the roof which was a bit disconcerting, the staff set some traps and there were definitely fewer the second night. There are no railings on the very mossy paths leading to each room, which on the one hand lends to the charm of the place, but on the other hand would have been really concerning if our kids had been younger. The pool was great, but had broken tiles that our kids cut their feet on. There is a small section of the pool that is suitable for toddlers or younger kids, but if you are travelling with children its important to know that the majority of the main pool is really deep - more than two metres so if your kids are not good swimmers they may not enjoy not being able to touch the ground. Its a bit of a walk into the centre of Ubud which was fine for us but might not suit people who do not have a good level of fitness.
The main areas of the hotel are pretty spectacular with ornate carvings and a general olde world vibe. The hotel is in a unique location and comes alive at dusk with birds, insects and animals roosting. The breakfast was great and our kids enjoyed the pool.

United KingdomThe chemicals pool gave both my daughters a rash and they refused to swim in it after the first time which really wasn't great as it was so hot and we booked for 8 nights. My friend who was also staying there had a rash from the pool. Also the pool had tiles missing, they really need to spend some time fixing the pool. The bathrooms were a bit dated.
Absolutely beautiful settings, waking up each morning and sitting on the balcony, the rooms were a great size. We had a lovely stay except that the chemicals in the pool gave both my daughters a rash so they refused to swim after the first time.
