Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe pool was great. Lots of areas in the pool for the kids or to get away from kids. Garden was just perfect. Breakfast was great. We had room service for family lunch with the kids a couple of times which was so convenient. We didn’t have to leave the resort in the heat of the day. Easy to get transport.

United States of AmericaThe building and room is very old style. If you don't mind old and antique setting then it is okay. If you use taxi service from the hotel it is expensive than gojek (uber), so better use gojek taxi. The Wifi kept on getting disconnected. Found spider is one of the bed.
Good Breakfast which was included. The environment of the hotel is clean and quiet.

Ivory CoastWhile my stay at Vila Hotel Lumbung was overall enjoyable, there were a few aspects that could be improved. The internet connection was often unreliable, and the constant need to enter passwords became tedious. Additionally, I found the lack of facilities in the cupboards to be somewhat disappointing. However, despite these minor inconveniences, I still thoroughly appreciated my time at the hotel and would consider returning in the future.
My stay at Vila Hotel Lumbung was a delightful experience, largely thanks to its charming lobby that exuded a welcoming atmosphere. The spacious rooms provided ample comfort and tranquility, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. The breakfast spread was not only delicious but also diverse, catering to various tastes and preferences. Moreover, the staff's hospitality and attentiveness truly enhanced the overall enjoyment of my stay, leaving me with fond memories and a desire to return.

AustraliaOther guests at the hotel should be more considerate of others just because you are large family group does not mean you own the hotel. A swim up bar should be for adults and not for young kids with their pool toys and throwing balls around and being excessively noisy, the larger main pool is more suited to kids , but in this day and age it's amazing how much as people we have become extremely self centred and self entitled and have a great lack of respect for others , not a nice place to be !!
We have been to Hotel Vila Lumbung before covid (approx 5 years ago) and although the hotel is lovely it is showing its age a little. The pool is still fabulous, staff were a little overwhelmed I felt and not as attentive as they were on our last visit , however the staff finally changed our room as the aircon was not working in the Vila we were given initially after my husband made a few complaints . We still had a fairly nice stay though although a bit disappointed by the actions of other guests at the hotel at the time and after a bit of a rocky start.

AustraliaPool wasn’t always the cleanest and had a green tinge at times. They admitted to having trouble getting the chemical balance right. I don’t like that people are allowed to eat and smoke in the pool. The restaurant needs much better ventilation/fans, so you can keep cool while eating!
The staff were very friendly. Arta in particular goes above and beyond, he was so helpful and he is a credit to the resort! The aircon in the rooms was good and the housekeeping was always excellent.

AustraliaOur balcony table needed replacing as it was very wobbly & propped up with slate or wood due to one leg, which was broken off. The outside of the buildings could do with a little maintenance as they are beginning looked a little run down. But my biggest concern was the pool, which got progressively murky over the period of our 5 day stay. There didn’t seem to be anyone attending to the water quality. By the start of our 4 day, I raised this twice with management, as I was concerned it was becoming a potential health issue. Unfortunately, the water clarity didn’t improve much.
The room was neat & clean & the staff, very friendly & accomodating. The pool was large, which was great for my daughter. Due to the thatched housing layout, the property is excellent for families. The daily breakfast choices were good too.

AustraliaThe hotel was quite tired, lots of patch up jobs done in every room. Everything looked like it was about 10 years out of date. Not very good lighting in the bathroom either.
Property was in a brilliant location, everything right on your doorstep. Fun pool with heaps of space to chill out and a swim up bar. Big rooms and beautiful gardens. Very attentive staff.

AustraliaIt needs a bit of updating, we stayed there 13 years ago and nothing has changed. Rooms feel a little dark and the bathrooms need an update as the water was not going down and gurgled when we flushed the toilet, really needs a freshen up. Not all the water features were running so it just seems to be stale water sitting with bugs in it
I love that it’s so green and Lush, great swim up bar and pool is great, off the main road so no road traffic noise which is nice. Love that we can have eggs anyway we want and they will cook them on the spot.

AustraliaThere was a lack of amenities in our room, no tea bags etc and obvious empty bottles not collected each day. The shower was very, very difficult to control the water temperature and the flow was poor. The corners of the shower had not been properly cleaned. We had to change our faulty kettle. The breakfast buffet was rather repetitive with only the same choices each day. There seemed to be some trainees in the restaurant who found it quite difficult to have an overall awareness of peoples needs, a little slow to act when replenishing items, which we had to ask for on a few occasions.
The hotel is situated close to the main, quite busy street but you cannot hear any traffic in there. The room was in Balinese style and the ceiling was very high making the place very spacious. The beds were very wide and very comfortable for us. We visited many places thanks to our amazing driver, Wayan, who works for this hotel and who showed us not only the tourist places but also cultural Balinese. He gave us a fantastic insight into Balinese life. The staff at the hotel were amazing and could not do enough for us, very, very friendly. Once you left the confines of the hotel you were immediately immersed into the Balinese culture. Housekeeping came to the room each day to make up the beds and change the towels.
