How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe breakfast was exceptionally good, 5 Star. We enjoyed the lovely breakfast room and the company of other people staying there. The Baileys was a nice touch. Parking at the Dart Station was also very handy.
Our room whilst very clean was rather on the small size. Absolutely fine for one night but would have been a bit cramped if we had stayed in for the evening.

Verified reviewWe stayed at the Blackrock Bed and Breakfast from June 8-15 and we had a wonderful stay! Our flight arrived early on the 8th, so we were at the B&B before check in was available. Jerry and Jacquie were so accommodating; they allowed us to leave our bags and offered us coffee/tea and a place in the common area to rest before we started sightseeing. They were knowledgeable of the area and able to steer us towards cheap parking for the week, as well as suggestions for areas and museums to visit, transportation to use, and restaurants to try. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, and had lots of storage area, which was great for our long stay. Breakfast every morning was phenomenal and they were accommodating to food options and allergies. They also had excellent communication prompting us to when our room was ready on check in day and checking on what time we wanted breakfast served each morning. Jacquie and Jerry were very friendly and chatted with us about our day’s adventures upon our return each evening. We would highly recommend staying at this bed and breakfast!

Verified reviewLocation and breakfast were highlights for us! Breakfast was amazing!!! Hosts are gracious! It’s a beautiful home.
Tub was gorgeous but had no plug so we couldn’t use it. Our bedroom was cramped for the two of us and had to put luggage outside in hallway. Our boys room was large and good for the three teens. Traveling as a couple it would have been better-but we are a crowd! It was expensive but that’s to be expected needing two rooms. We didn’t know if we should/could use family room and kitchen after hours so we tucked into our rooms, which were very clean. Breakfast really was special and we very much enjoyed talking to the hosts!

Verified reviewNothing! Great effort made to make us comfortable with an extra bed made up.. Delicious breakfast.
Expensive but probably because it was a prime night of rugby and everywhere was booked!
Really glad we helped make your first visit to dublin a good one! Thanks for staying. Jacquie

Verified reviewI had a very brief stayover but it was a great location literally 2min walk from train station that brings you direct to city centre. My own work brought me further southside but buses run regularly nearby also so its ideally placed. Some eateries just nearby plus a pub just on the corner with music and food too. A very beautiful home full of art and colour and very comfortable rooms, clean and warm. Plus a piano :) The Tv came with a variety of channels including netflix option. Breakfast was a lovely spread with lots of options and the owners were very friendly. Highly recommend.
Can't fault the place at all. The bathroom wasn't en suite but it was impeccably clean and could be easily partitioned from rest of house If I chose to.

Verified reviewI had a lovely, cozy stay. Jacquie and her family are wonderful! Friendly and attentive, their hospitality was supreme! Access to the city via bus routes close by and a quick walk to visit the coast makes this a wonderful accommodation in which to rest! And they shared their dog, Scully, for quick pats too. And nearby pub had live music and delicious food!
Well, the bed was so comfy, I really just wanted to indulge and stay in it all day! 🥰

Verified reviewEverything. The location near the water and parks, proximity to Blackrock village, the house structure was historic in nature, but updated and well-appointed. The room was comfortable, the included extra touches were welcoming and appreciated, breakfast was fantastic , and Jacquie and Gerry were friendly, helpful and available. I'll be back!
I can't think of anything!
I sincerely hope you’ll be back. It was such a pleasure to meet you all. Thank you for being such amazing guests. Jacquie

Verified reviewThe room, location and owners. Fantastic breakfast but better than that are the host/owners. Jacquie and Jerry were superb host and the breakfast they served was great. The train was only a 5 minute walk that takes you anywhere in Dublin you want to go.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous. There was a great selection of food and it was all wonderful.
There was no clear signage on the outside of the house.

Verified reviewFantastic Breakfast made to order. Beautiful home. Felt like I was staying in an old higher class home in Ireland. Owner was friendly and helpful. The room was large and the private bathroom very modern and well laid out. The dining area was well lit and looked out on a beautiful garden. Peeked into the kitchen, which was ultra modern and beautifully laid out. Would definitely stay here when back in Dublin. Parking was convenient at the train station, which was literally minutes from the front door.
Nothing.
Thanks so much. I remember your stay with us - it was a pleasure to host such a lovely couple. Delighted you loved our b&b. Thanks again. Jacquie
