Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

We had a lovely stay at the Castle Hotel.for our 40th wedding anniversary from check in till we left everything was spot on - gteat location - the hotel even organised ballons a banner and petals on our bed for us arriving- lovely touch Castle Hotel thank you - we we're only bed and breakfast both continental and full irish whatever you wanted and it was delish - staff fab too. Thanks again hopefully we will return.

Already third stay at this hotel. I could check in at 5AM during a weekend and switch the day I could have access to the breakfast. That added so much comfort to my stay. The staff members are just great! They are all very competent and reliable. As always the room was very comfortable, clean and the hotel is well located. Certainly not my last stay :)

Already my second stay at this hotel. Very nice room (they are all different). I like the mix of old style building and the nice work with decoration. Always very comfortable. Staff is really friendly. Good breakfast (with 2 different options).

Downstairs dining room felt like a basement. Food was just OK. Breakfast egg on avocado toast was hard and cold. Area in Dublin was not what we wanted. But we were too late to cancel, so we stayed two nights, then moved to the Saint Stephen’s Green area
The front desk staff.. Ahmed was very helpful. the Music Room was delightful

It was in a noisy part of town and heard all of the sounds of cars and people on the street as well as some of our neighbors in other rooms talking and taking showers. It little expensive.
I liked the atmosphere and the live Irish music and Irish cuisine. The bed was comfortable. We did receive a take away bag since we had to leave early for our flight.

We were only given one large towel - we had to ask three times for another towel to be provided.
Good breakfast - we did traditional Irish cooked one day and continental the other day. Both were very good.

Menus very limited - more choice please. Chaotic breakfast service upstairs, not particularly busy but staff were like headless chickens. In the end, it became “self service” for us which wasn’t an issue on this occasion as we were not pushed for time.

The shower was luke warm at best and even though I asked about it and apparently maintenance went up, it didn’t get better. It took about 10 minutes to run the water just to get it to luke warm. I think the carpets need a deep clean.
Comfy bed. Staff friendly and responsive. Serviced daily. Good position. Restaurants good. Breakfast good.

The limited parking and the fact that it wasn't included was a let down.
Afternoon tea at the Old Music Shop was excellent, as was our breakfast at The Vaults. The staff was friendly and helpful at the front desk as well as in the restaurants. It's pretty centrally located. Grafton Street was an easy walk from the hotel.

Nothing to dislike
Having stayed at The Caste Hotel last year it was my number one choice for this year. Nice and close to the center but not too close, friendly and welcoming staff, fine food, and a very comfortable room. Also appreciated being able to keep the same room when we had to book an extra night due to our flights back home being cancelled due to the weather, also appreciated the breakfast bags as we had to leave too early for the hotel breakfast the next day. Once again I’ve no idea If I’ll get to Dublin again but if I do The Castle Hotel will be my first choice and I will also be recommending the hotel to any of my friends travelling to Dublin

The water pressure in the shower was very, very unsatisfactory.
It was conveniently located, with a decent breakfast open early enough (and you could get a to-go meal and coffee very early if necessary), and a nice restaurant for dinner and music.

I couldn't connect my HDMI cable to the TV so I couldn't watch Netflix.
Breakfast was excellent. The two breakfast rooms with choices of hot or cold breakfast were perfect. The pancake machine was cute and those pancakes were delicious. I ate in the restaurant bar 3 times because of the live performances, which I really enjoyed.
