Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LuxembourgThe cleanliness of the kitchen and living room. Self Breakfast was a joke.
The house is spacious, and the room was large and clean. Self check-in worked without any issues, and having a parking space right at the door was very convenient. The area is quiet, and the town center is within walking distance. It was a bit of a pity that we didn’t get to meet the host in person. The "self-breakfast" was very basic – just butter, jam, chocolate spread, and instant coffee. While the room was clean, the living room and kitchen area could have been better maintained.

AustraliaThe windows didn’t open fair enough to let the breeze in. Empty water bottles all over the kitchen.
We stayed in room 2. The space was very generous and easy to have luggage in. If you were having a longer stay, this room is for you as it has its own shower and toilet. It was very clean and comfortable. The beds were good to sleep in. I liked the personal touches of information pamphlets being laid out in the room and the salt lamp (optional to use). A very helpful folder with personal suggestions from the Frank was included in the room. The dining room was spacious and had further ideas of things to do. Breakfast things were provided as the advertisement said. Very quiet area. It was only about 20 minutes into the Latin Quarter on High Street.

Czech RepublicBreakfast was rather poor, not too many options, but was OK. The room next to mine had loudly creaking floor and mattres. Other than that, all was good and comfortable.
The room was very cozy and comfortable. Even though the bathroom is shared, there was no trouble. Loved the location of the accommodation, very quiet and beautfiul, hovewer about 20 min walk to the centre. The host is very nice and helpful.

United KingdomWith it being shared accommodation it’s not the cleanest accommodation you’ll ever find but it was fine. Don’t be put off by the length of instructions given when booking this place, it’s very easy to figure out how to get in. Don’t expect a big cooked breakfast, it’s just help yourself, which was okay.
Great location for 15 minute walk into Galway City Centre, with plenty going on nearby. Excellent value for money. Comfortable.

GermanyThe bathroom could be renovated, I didn't feel too comfortable there. It was clean though.
There was a plentiful breakfast every morning (coffee, toast, cereal, orange juice, fresh fruit) and Frank was endlessly helpful with tips and jokes. I felt at home thanks to the cosy common areas. The location of the accommodation was not bad either.

United StatesFor me it was too far out of town for walking and I got lost coming back the first day.
It was my first time to stay at a B&B or B and SelfB so hard to rate. I needed to be more prepared having only stayed in hotels that have a full breakfast with coffee and teas laid out with fruit and cereals etc that you serve yourself when there wasn't an actual dining room. I got to meet the owner the day I left and he was very nice. The grounds around the place are nice with lots of beautiful flowers.

IrelandThe instructions sent via text message were missing the house number, which made the place hard to find initially. The noise from other residents, particularly late at night, was a bit disturbing due to the creaking floorboards.
I appreciated the student accommodation’s convenient location, ample parking, and fast Wi-Fi. The room was well-equipped with a table and bed. The shared living space, including a kitchen and balcony, was a nice touch. I could make tea or coffee at my leisure and even cook my own meals with ingredients from the nearby Dunes Store. The nostalgic student life atmosphere and the availability of plenty of activities in the town were also enjoyable. The tips on where to go, along with timetables and public transport information, were very helpful.

Czech RepublicThe bathroom is a bit too old and the first day we had no hot water, luckily this was solved but we had to wait for a hot shower.
The apartment is very nice and it comes with a terrace and a kitchen always available for use. We have liked the idea of the self service breakfast where everything is available and you choose what you get, but maybe products should have labels to understand how long they've been opened for.
