Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Check in was a bit delayed even though we arrived at the indicated time. When we were given the guesthouse/ room key, it didn't open the guesthouse door which delayed us further. Walls are thin - you can hear people and the TV in the room next door. Apart from that, everything was great,
Comfy beds, good location and outstanding breakfast! Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Room had everything we needed.

Our secret holiday destination for many years has been discovered by the world.. Too many tourists now:(
This guest house strikes the perfect balance between the services of a hotel and the personal touch of a B&B. No need to interact with B&B hosts as the staff are professional and then leave you to your own care while there are amenities such as a nice lounge with a fireplace that you would find in a good B&B. The breakfast was excellent, presentation, content and service. We had a takeaway homemade loaf of bread upon check out which was an unexpected bonus.

Fantastic included breakfast- extremely delicious at The Glas Restaurant. Great location, and the most friendly staff. We left behind a stuffed animal and they were able to find it, and keep in contact with us to come back and pick it up. We would stay here again for sure.

Huge room, warm, very comfortable. The breakfast (included in the price) was amazing. And we got some soda bread when checking out, which was gorgeous!

TV didn't work. Bed wasn't the comfiest. No live music in the pub that night!
Clean & tidy room. Carpark adjacent. Pub with good food over the road. Hotel staff over the road were very friendly. The largest and most spectacular breakfast I'm ever likely to eat - couldn't eat for the rest of the day!

The breakfast was amazing. There is a nice pub across the street with live music. The hotel is a great location for getting to the Cliffs of Mohr.

Walking on some of the roads in Doolin is life-threatening. I could not walk over to McDermott's without risking death. That was disappointing, but it is out of your control of course.

The bed in Room 4 was too soft and needed replacement. The walls were a bit thin and we could hear the guest next door. The late night crowd at Fitzs Pub was a bit loud from 12 midnight till 2:30 am but our room faced the front of the property. We did speak to reception at the Hotel Doolin the next day at check out. They acknowledged the bed and thin wall issue and stated that improvements are in the works. This was our 2nd stay at the property. Previous stay was in 2015 under prior ownership.
Fantastic Breakfast which was provided at the Glas located directly across the street. You will only need breakfast as the daily meal. The location is the center of attention with this property. It is now part of the Hotel Doolin complex.
