Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomMy only very minor criticism is that the WiFi could be slightly stronger, but the same is true in my own house 🤷♂️ It would be useful to have a low table or bench to put a suitcase on, probably instead of the wardrobe.
Terry and his staff are exceptionally hospitable! My room was large and very comfortable, with a double bed, small dining table and chair, and a wardrobe. The room was nicely decorated. There was also a good sized en-suite bathroom with a shower. The guesthouse is an easy 10minute walk across the park to RDS and 30minutes or so to the city centre. It’s on a residential street, so pretty quiet at night with very little traffic.

IsraelNot the things I did not like but some observations I noted. The place is near a primary school so a lot of children talking especially at the morning. I came around easter so no school then but left two days after children came back so maybe it can bother someone in the morning if they are not planning to leave the room. I got a room where I had to lock the door otherwise it won't shut and even though the walls are not thin the door is so you could hear some noise especially if someone came back. But it resolved very quickly and did not bother me at all. One of the lamps did not work so it should be checked but there was another one so that is ok and the room has a perfect sunlight in the morning.
I don't have enough adjectives to describe the place which was beyond my expectations for the guest house. It was the only time I wanted to rate the place positively before I left it. I mostly had interaction with Louis and Martina and brief talk with the owner the next morning of my arrival. The warmth and the welcomeness I received was incredible. Even though the property states the check in should be between 2-7 PM I arrived later and was greeted by Louis who not only explained to me about the city but also made me some tea with biscuits. I got really big room which Martina would clean so nicely everyday and change my coffee and tea. It was a very beautiful and clean room and I enjoyed it so much I did not want to leave it. What I really appreciated about the location is that it was not too close to the centre and after a long day of walking and interacting with people it was nice to have some quite time to yourself and because it is a big house there are not so many visitors so it always felt like I am coming back home after a hard day. It is close to all the facilities you need- direct busses to city centre and the airport (!), Tesco and a small market to buy some grocery food if you need, really good cafe that serves the best toasties and breakfast for a reasonable price (Happy Out) and some more if you like. In overall I recommend the place for solo travellers (especially who are a bit introverts like myself) and couples who want a nice get a way for the weekend.

South AfricaParking is limited but the attendant arranged that for me which was great.
The communication was excellent, as I needed to change my arrival date which was arranged ASAP. The rooms were very clean - bathroom and bedroom, assistant was very friendly upon arrival, apartment is situated very close to a Tesco and other bars for a drink. Conveniently close to my office which worked out perfectly. Wifi has a strong connection.

United States of AmericaI made the mistake of discovering Sandford Road too late. Donnybrook Hall is close to Morehampton Road (which has a nice pub and a great restaurant called Happy Out which I suggest), but Sanford Road is on the other end and has LOTS of shops and restaurants, etc. I didn't get a chance to explore that on my trip. So I'll just come back!
Fantastic, kind, informative staff; great area close to food and walking areas. The room was comfortable with great water pressure in the shower, and the B&B itself was cozy, well-kept, and honestly, perfect. 10/10

ItalyIt would be nice to provide each room with an EU to Irish plug, so that in case any of the guests forgets it, there's always one at hand, since a lot of the guests will only have the need to charge their devices once or twice and forgot the plug (like myself! :) )
I had an amazing stay at Donnybrook Hall. The staff was very welcoming, attentive and informed me about everything I needed to know to get the best out of my stay in Dublin. There was no problem with checking in, leaving the luggage, early leave in the morning or checking out. The staff always made sure I knew how to get back to the hotel, and remembered my schedule to best accomodate me. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable, the room was heated, so I never suffered any cold, and the bathroom was nice and modern! There was a TV, a kettle, some tea, and a welcome treat waiting for me. It really felt like home.

United KingdomBathroom door - separate from bedroom. The only issue with this is that using the key to unlock was pretty noisy. Perhaps a keyless lock would reduce this. Even just a cheap Yale keyless lock.
