Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyBunk-Beds are extremely uncomfortable. There is no space to sit, you should become bent all the time. Another story about sockets. If you want to use them , you need to buy an adopter. There is no other way to charge your mobile. Looks like a way of earning money from tourists.
The atmosphere is cool. It's pretty clean and warm inside. The location is great and comfortable. The kitchen is big and airy, you won't feel claustrophobic in your room as well.

ItalyDirty bathrooms and dirty kitchen: cleaning should be done more frequently but also not in peak hours. We slept in the 4-people dorm and they are too small to move around the drawers for personal belongings. Pillows and materasses are quite bad.
Central location, well-equipped kitchen and clean beds.

United States of AmericaThe beds in the 2 person room are bunk beds with a low overhang on the lower one
This is a great value in a neighborhood that is near landmarks like Guiness and Teeling and is an easy walk. The beds were especially comfortable, the place was clean, and the staff were helpful. For 10 Euro you can reserve a spot in an underground parking garage. The common area is comfortable and has a range of DVD's and a nice kitchen plus washers and dryers. Linens and towels provided.

BrazilI didn’t feel very safe around the hostel at night. Specially when I arrived (my flight was delayed and I got there very late) The sinalization to where the hostel was, was very bad and the end of the street didn’t feel safe!
The property was really great! The staff was super helpful and felt like home as soon as I found out some of them were Brazilians like me!

AustraliaLike all hostels in Dublin, it was expensive and not great value for money. It seems like a lot of people live in this hostel, so not great for young backpackers looking to make friends.
Comfy bed with privacy curtains and good locker space. Felt very safe here as there are multiple keys to get in. Within walking distance to Temple Bar area.

SpainOne of the bathrooms always had the window open and a little broken, it couldn't be closed. I was too cold to shower. The other bathroom was always occupied.
The hostel staff was very friendly. Whenever I had doubts, they solved them very well. The room I was in was very good too. We were 6 and we have our own private area. There was a lot of respect.

LatviaI found the location somewhat rough, especially because I was travelling solo and sometimes had to return to the hostel late. But if you like Dublin's gritty charm, or really want to keep it central and low-priced, it could be something for you.
A very good experience overall. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, they took good care of my luggage (I arrived early). The facilities were basic but always clean, and I appreciated the free coffee-and-tea station in the kitchen. My bed was very comfortable. A bonus point is the brilliant view over Dublin's rooftops that you get from the kitchen/terrace space--you can have your coffee while watching the sunrise and listening to the seagulls!

FranceThe bag cages are under the beds. It was difficult for me to fully roll mine out, as the area between the beds is quite narrow. If more than one person is present in the room, it can get tricky to manage. I was assigned the upper bunk. Unfortunately, there isn't a small shelf installed on the wall next to your bed, like I've seen in other hostels), where you can arrange small items like your phone, glasses, charger, or a book for easy access. You will have to scatter these things on the bed (and hope they don't slip through the gaps around the frame by accident). The bathroom/toilet tends to be damp all the time since the door cannot be kept open. The ventilation could use some improvement. The neighbourhood around the hostel is by no means dangerous - at least, I didn't experience anything that made me feel unsafe. But I did see a notice on a building near the hostel stating that the area was under constant surveillance for anti-social behaviour. It can feel a little dodgy if you return late at night.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the kitchen area and common room, it felt very cosy. Wifi worked well. I stayed in the 4-bed female-only dorm. Room and bed was as described. Hot water dispenser in the kitchen is a plus. Having your own night light and privacy curtain is a sure-win. Nice walkable distance to the city centre (about 10 to 15 minutes). There are also several options for takeout and groceries, if you want to cook your own meals. The Korean restaurant Space Jaru serves excellent food and it's just around the corner from the hostel! Guests should remember to bring their own padlock for their locker, if they want added security for their valuables. The hostel also sells padlocks if you forgot to bring your own.

IrelandThere’s only one washroom per floor. Although, the wait time is not that long in our experience. The thickness of the bed conflicts if you want to sit on it. Theres only one chair to share between 4 people which can be a problem. It is a very tight space to share between four people.
The beds were very soft and comfy although it’s very thick you can’t really fit when you want to sit on the bed. We had a peak on their shared living room/kitchen space and it looked really nice and cozy. We only stayed there for a night so we didn’t really able to use the space.
