Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomUSB socket was not functional , bar staff fully trained great location and pods felt private once curtain closed but was hot , flat pillow , great locker system with a PIN code. I recommend getting a top bunk for more privacy and bigger lockers. there was supposed to be a QR code sent to me but this did not happen. be sure to remember 2 sets of 4 digit PIN codes to access doors. Bar staff inconsistencies and some lacking knowledge of the drinks.

South AfricaThe toilet and shower in the 6-person female dormitory could be separate as it does limit the use of the facilities. Otherwise the pod-beds create a great sense of privacy.
The pub downstairs was great - great service and the pub quiz on a Tuesday evening was super fun. Good location.

AustraliaThe prices at the hostel bar could've been cheaper considering it's designed for travellers.
The toilet and shower cubicles in the actually dorm room were really convenient. The pods were comfortable and spacious, and each bed was provided with plenty of room for luggage storage. The hostel bar is great, and has events most nights.

AustraliaNo kitchen/kitchenette facilities. Female bathrooms only on certain levels. Surrounding area is quite dirty and dodgy. Made me second guess going out on my own at night. Booked a female only dorm and woke up with a male staying in the room

SwedenStayed in a 4-person room, but only one chair was available. The room and hallway were extremely cold. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable. Shower cabin was too small. Could hear people talking in the corridor due to thin doors. Tiny elevator. Asked for hot tea one morning from desk, was told it was free, because they just found some random tea bag in the kitchen, but later saw a 2-euro charge for a small paper cup with 150 ml of hot water with a camomile bag. A clear heads-up on costs would be really appreciated.
Clean rooms and linens. Every guest gets a locker with a code. Our room had its own bathroom. Sleeping pods were spacious. Location close to city center.

IrelandThe staff was very nice even though I arrived at late night. The area didn't look safe enough but the hostel on its own had good security from my perspective. The "pod" and the room were comfortable and there was no issue. The bathroom was "modern" but I didn't take a shower since I felt uncomfortable...

GermanyThe breakfast was okay, unfortunately there were no fruits or vegetables. As there was one bathroom for the whole room of 10 women I was with, in the mornings it would get very busy and one’d have to wait a while, but that’s on the guests to be mindful of. Maybe I didn’t manage to figure out the shower, but it would go out every like 20secs and I had to press again for it to start, but that way I also got finished up more quickly, I guess. Also beware there is no kitchen, if one wants to cook…
The staff was very nice and helpful, especially when I asked them to prolong my stay without changing rooms or beds. They even gave me a free breakfast coupon for one time at the check in. The guests were pretty quiet and respectful and the rooms were spacious. Almost every night there were social events organized, which I found pretty neat.

FinlandThe showers sucked, they were the kind that you have to press to get a few seconds of water and then press again when it runs out. Super annoying to wash long hair when the water was only running 10sec at a time
Very nice and private beds in shared booth, nice light and shelf and plug also in the pod. Very clean and comfy

United KingdomThe pod did get rather warm over the night because of the lack of ventilation (I ended up propping my curtain open a tiny bit which helped a lot). The linens had some stains on them. The stains has clearly been through a wash cycle though, so the issue was aesthetic rather than sanitary.
The pods offered a good sense of security and privacy, being roughly 1x1x2m in size with charging ports, a black-out curtain on one end, a shelf, and a coat hook. The mattress was soft and comfortable. The location was convenient for travel to/from the airport, and for seeing Dublin’s city centre.

South AfricaThe staff are constantly talking amongst themselves while customers wait. Instead of chatting, they could be cleaning the tables. I sat at a table that someone else had been sitting in, so I moved their plate out of the way. 2 hours later, it was still on the table! Many of your staff walked past it and nobody removed it. Your staff know nothing about Dublin, where anything is, or even how to work the washing machines without using cash. They don't greet guests that are staying there to ask how their day was, where did they go. Recommend places to visit. I understand that they are young but they need to learn customer service. I am also NOT happy with the fact that because of issues with my airline ticket, I could only get to the hostel a week later. I understand you don't have a cancellation policy, but as a show of good faith and customer service, you could have offered me a few meal and drink vouchers. When I left, your staff didn't ask how I enjoyed my stay. In fact they hardly spoke to me. It takes nothing to get to know your guest a bit - what brings you to Dublin, is this your first visit, can I recommend the following tours? The cleaning staff are loud, and all they do is talk amongst themselves at the top of their voices. No, sorry to interrupt, is this a convinient time. Your establishment has a lot going for it, but I think you should possibly look at customer service training with your staff. I fact since your bar staff are reliant on tips, how about going around to the tables to encourage the patron to buy more drinks, mention your food and drink specials
I liked the pods,. The beds are very comfortable, and the lockers are great. I liked the dining area.
