Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandTv was difficult to work out so instructions would have been useful Bar and grill served good food, but a bit overpriced and the table for 2 was too large...difficult to talk across such a large size.
Lovely setting with plenty of options for walks. Hotel decor very attractive including beautiful atrium. Room was a good size with well designed ensuite and rituals toiletries. Small but lovely pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Full choice of breakfast options, with great service even though we arrived at a busy time Staff throughout our stay were pleasant, friendly and attentive.

IrelandI was disappointed that there was no shampoo in the shower. I rang Reception and the phone was not working. My friends phone in another room was not working either. I found a Supervisor and requested shampoo and was told it was on a shelf in the shower. I checked and there was no shampoo. Again, I found the same Supervisor and told her that there definitely was No Shampoo. She said she would get some but laughed as I walked away. I got the shampoo within 10 mins. There were two Barry's tea bags and 4 health tea bags in room. . I requested ordinary tea bags and got some extra. . Small things but for the price I would expect a better service. The room was cold on arrival but I adjusted temperature.
Location is beautiful. The grounds and walled garden are stunning . The reception area is impressive with beautiful decor. Grill room was busy at night. Attentive staff and good service. Pint of Guinness was 7 E. Glass of wine 10 E. Bed was large size and comfortable. Breakfast was great with plenty of choices. Staff were attentive. Bathroom is spacious with a large bath. Separate shower . Plenty of towels. Room was cold on arrival but temperature can be adjusted.

United KingdomFor a 5* hotel, the pool area is very poor, more in keeping with a 3 or 4 star hotel -.clean but not luxurious and there were not enough chairs for the number of people at the pool. We were happy to pay for a high B&B rate as it was a busy weekend, but were not impressed that the thermal suite cost an additional €25 pp. We have stayed at a number of other 5* hotels and the spa facilities are available to all guests. I think at the prices Lyrath charge, this should be included to bring the leisure facilities up to 5*. Our room was also not cleaned fully, with finger prints and dust all over the bedroom surfaces. I passed these two issues on to a member of staff, who took our room number and said she would pass onto the manager, but did nothing about it. A lovely hotel but not worth the 5* star prices.
Huge spacious rooms, beautiful lobby and good food.

IrelandFood in the Grill bar was expensive. Every item on the menu had gone up in price since booking at Christmas time. The thermal spa was €50 for the two of us as we had not booked a treatment. There were two saunas and steam rooms, however one of each were not working. A bit overpriced in my opinion.
Very nice room. Hotel was excellent.

IrelandAttention to detail could be paid in the manor house rooms. Chipped paint on windows etc.also having to pay to use the spa pool at a spa hotel when the normal pool is not one for a luxury hotel. Also even when you are willing to pay there is barely any tome slots available.
We stayed in the manor house. The room was a bit dull with dark wall paper and could do with sone attention to detail. However, the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom is absolutely gorgeous. The staff at lyrath are the reason my family and I choose to celebrate big occasions there.

IrelandWe stayed on the 1st floor close to the entrance to the pool area, as the doors to the pool area were left wide open and it was all an open space with the pool there was a very strong smell of chlorine throughout the first floor but especially strong around the end of the corridor where our room was. Also, I tried to book the spa a couple of weeks in advance but both spa and thermal suite were booked out so if you want to use the spa while there maybe check availability before booking your stay. Dinner at the Grill & Bar was disappointing. We made a reservation in advance for 8:30. The restaurant looked nice and menu looked good, Starters arrived with no issues however there was almost an hour gap before we got our main. At some stage a manager came to let us know they were about to plate our food but it took another 20 minutes for it to arrive, we could see what was being plated because it is an open kitchen. Our order was one of the last ones to come out and they were literally packing up the food as kitchen was closing, My lamb shank was delicious and would even say worth the wait but my partner's steak was mostly gristle and inedible. We gave this feedback to the staff who were lovely and apologetic and refunded the steak, however, as the restaurant was now closed there was no alternative offered to order something else. One of the staff even followed us downstairs as we left the restaurant to apologise so I would not fault the staff. But yeah, for the place we were in the quality of the steak was dreadful and restaurant should stay open later as most people staying at the Lyrath probably dine onsite and the kitchen seemed overwhelmed to deal with the dinner rush.
Beautiful hotel, very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Lots of beautifully decorated areas to sit around and enjoy a drink and a chat. The room was spacious, clean and had lovely views of the grounds. There was evening entertainment which was very good & breakfast was delicious. The grounds of the hotel are also lovely to go for a walk.

IrelandWe didn’t get best value out of the stay, it was a late booking and there was not any availability for spa treatment nor thermal spa access, and due to bad weather we didn’t have a walk on the estate; dinner in yew restaurant was limited choice but good and good service but lacked atmosphere as there were only 5 tables occupied in a huge room
