Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandThe decor and fittings needed upgrading but we didn't mind as everything else was fine. There was no breakfast but we supplied our own food
It was quiet, friendly and had everything we needed. It was also very cheap in a great location close to public transport, the sea and cafes. It was well organised and the owner was friendly and professional

IrelandThe bathroom is large and clean but the shower just dribbles and there was no hot water. The outside unfortunately is a little neglected which is off putting when you arrive - but once you adjust and accept that this is budget accommodation it is fine and does what is needed!
The bedroom with its own bathroom was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The lodge is good for an overnight stay. The lodge is very central, short walking distance to the main shopping area and public transport. There is parking and there is also street parking. When we arrived after 6.00 p.m. there was a door code provided to us over the phone to open the door and once inside there was a key box inside the breakfast room for our room - all very straight forward. This is a budget styled, very old fashioned accommodation - one needs to be prepared for that.

CanadaDid not realize when I booked 2 rooms for 4 nights, that we would be sharing the bathroom & shower with 12 other rooms. The hallways and stairs were carpeted and it smelled musty. Thank goodness the bedrooms had wood floors.
Close proximity to stores, restaurants and sea. A parking spot was included in price.

United KingdomSharing a bathroom / toilet wasn't great, but we had no problems with waiting for people to vacate to let us use it so in the end it wasn't a huge issue.
The location of the Lodge was perfect for our visit. The room was clean and large, ideal for us. The shower / bathroom was clean also and the property is in a quiet street.

IrelandUnfortunately the water only dribbled out of the shower and the tap, consequently it took 40 minutes to wash my hair - I wouldn't stay again unless I knew that was resolved. It was painful. Also underneath the carpet floor just before the bathroom the flooring underneath gave way and I took a little tumble so that should be fixed.
The bed was really nice and very comfortable, I had a great night's sleep. A couple of chocolate croissants in the room was a lovely touch. Well located.

IrelandA tiny suggestion for additional comfort: a little rug on the cold wooden floor beside the bed would gain the approval of bare feet :-)

IrelandThere’s not much in the way of soundproofing so it’s easy to hear what’s going on in the next room over.
Great location - a few minutes’ walk from Dún Laoghaire town centre, only a little further to the lovely villages Sandycove and Monkstown, and the DART (suburban rail) will get you to Dublin in 30 minutes. The rooms are simple but have everything I need. Not all are ensuite but not a dealbreaker for me. Nice touch of pain au chocolat per guest left with the coffee and tea supplies: in the days when you often don’t get biscuits any longer in hotels, a little treat with the morning coffee goes a little way.
