We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomIn a run down apartment block (smelly corridors, hallway carpet pulled up). In apartment windows didn’t open properly, seating arrangements firm, bed uncomfortable.
Central location, 2 beds. Although hosts did not connect ahead of stay, they were prompt and courteous during the stay.

ItalyA few little things, virtually at no cost, would improve review significantly: 1. the bathroom would need hangers for towels. 2. the kitchen sink faucet is leaky and needs repairing. 3. there were five of us, but only four chairs for breakfast.
The location is just perfect to visit Dublin on foot and within walking distance from all bus and train main stations. It is very quiet despite being in a very crowded area. Check-in was with a person from the owner, so we could check the apartment together and agree on potential needs. the apartment is small but well equipped, clean and comfortable (I was travelling with my elderly parents) so i was very happy about it.

AustraliaThe sofa bed could have used some linen, blankets or pillows to make it better for 3-4 guests. The kitchen could benefit from having some more glasses, plates, dishwashing liquid ect.
Very clean. Location was spot on in the middle of the city and everything was a 10 minute walk or less. Staff were excellent and super accomodating with any requests and eager to make your stay comfortable. Bedding and apartment were all clean and neatly organised.

MalaysiaThis apartment was in a state of disrepair and was not cleaned prior to our stay. Inaccurate Listing: The apartment was advertised for five guests, but the hall was too small and a promised sofa bed was not provided. Maintenance Issues: The TV was broken and constantly flickering. The kitchen sink had a leak that appeared to be a long-standing issue, and the mat was filthy. Poor Hygiene: The kitchen utensils and dustbin were dirty. Both sets of curtains and the bed linens were unwashed and dusty. Clutter: The closets in both rooms were filled with the host's personal, broken items (e.g., a spoiled vacuum cleaner, old pillows, etc.), leaving no space for our belongings. The host's failure to maintain a clean and functional living space is unacceptable. Both the host and Booking.com failed to provide a satisfactory experience.
I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay and the service provided by Booking.com. The apartment was falsely advertised as accommodating 5 people; the spaces were far too small for our group. The most significant issue, however, was the complete failure of both the host and Booking.com to address our urgent request to move to a more suitable apartment. The inability to contact the host and the unhelpful response from your customer service team is a severe breakdown in your management and support for customers.
