Some of the old rooms could do with a little lift. The floors creak and makes one remember the history, and wonder about the wonnderful historic people who also walked the same floors.

magic, ambiance is wonderfull and if you suffer from high blood pressure then leave the pills at home when you go to Renvyle. Food is excellent and the staff are something special. I was very impressed with the fact that the lovely staff are able to, and possibly encouraged to "think on their feet and make executive decisions". This shows a high level of good managenment behind the scenes.

I found the food quite pricey for what you get and we were a bit disappointed with breakfast as the french toast was overcooked and when we ordered pancakes we literally got 1 pancake.

The location is perfect, staff are very friendly and welcoming. The outdoor pool is a huge bonus for kids and the fact that it is heated is brilliant. The grounds are beautiful.

You have to go outside to have a good view of the coastline. There isn't a common room inside the hotel that takes full advantage of the view. The view from our room was nice and we could see the water, but the dining and sun room areas do not have a clear view of the coast.

The hotel is lovely and the grounds are stunning. A beautiful remote location with lots of historical interest too.

The price of dinner and the price of wine has risen very sharply in the last few years. Although both are excellent,I feel people won't pay these high prices any longer. They have no competition in the area and the nearest other restaurant is 2/3 km away. You cannot walk to the other restaurant as the road has no lighting and is very narrow. Unless you get a special offer to stay at Renvyle house it can be very costly. Our stay for 2 days was over €600.We could have had a week in the sun for the same money.

Food at this hotel is excellent. The staff are so good and very helpful . The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble for them .

The GM/owner told children if they finished their dinner their would be ice cream fir them.they got their ice cream and in checking out the 4 ice creams had been added to our bill.As the reception girl at check out wasn't very friendly when I srarted to question the bill we just paid and left.the girl out check in (Catherine)was so welcoming and friendly, the best welcome in fact I have even received in any hotel, and iv stayed in hundreds and lived in many globally.i also didn't like that there were no prices in any menus so at check out I had to go through bill which was frowned upon I was made feel like I was being rude by questioning bill make up.

Superb welcome.great freedom fir children of all ages in the play room.wonderful lighting in the evening.tasteful country decor.Fabulous large dining tables and full breakfast menu.dining staff super warm and approachable.mes o Sullivan was fantastic to the children taking them by the hand into the kitchen to collect bread for the ducks.specisl touch very memorable.

We chose this hotel because it was listed as 'dog friendly' and was it ever! In addition to great grounds to walk in, our furry friend was welcome throughout the hotel's public spaces. The location was fantastic with beautiful views. The food was amazing with fabulous breakfast choices. Connemara National Park was mere minutes away. We took full advantage of the leisure facilities which included boating on the lake, beach-walking, and tennis.

Pillows only fit for the bin and a well used lumpy overweight duvet little better .When you pay a quarter of a thousand euro for a nights B&B in a 4* hotel you expect that you will get a 4* night. Incidentally the toilet flush and window levers were also broken.Nobody was delegated to clear dirty glasses from the lounge tables .Overall a place living on a past reputation.Receptionist advised me that manager would contact me regarding my experience , I 'm still waitin a week later .

Beds were terrible and need replacing. Bathrooms really basic with shower curtain. If you are looking for luxury this is not the hotel for you. You have to decide if the food, scenery and ambience of the place make up for the lack of luxury. Obviously by the amount of return visitors many believe it does. Always booked out for Christmas and New Year.

The food is wonderful. One of the best hotels for food in Ireland. The scenary is magnificent. Ducks asleep on the Putting Green and lovely gardens to wander about in. Great view from Canadian Hot Tub. Renvyle House Hotel is unique but very old fashioned and plain.
