Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I wish the TV was a little bigger.
I like the way the bedroom is shaped. The beds are really comfy. The owner is really nice and always there for customers. It's easy to move around.

I did not like the shower head but it is fine.
I liked the room type, it is very comfy and good. The lights are so good along with the bathroom. The facilities were great, just sadly there was no mini fridge as it would be good on people on budget. I love the warm floor boards as you can adjust the temperature. The owner is really understandable and kind which is very good.

Showers water was very hot. Couldn’t have a shower because there was no way to change the water temperature (too hot on all settings). The windows let in a lot of street noise, we woke up a number of times in the night due to traffic, bin trucks and noise from the street.
Clean and neat hotel, seamless experience (staffless check in/out). Very central.

My only criticism would be that on the walls I noticed quite a bit of smudging and dirt, even a semi hand print. Didn’t impact our stay though, and all linens were spotless and everything else was perfectly clean.
Perfect location central to Galway city. Lovely bars in the area and was a short walk to Eyre Square. Checking in and out was incredibly easy and quick. Considering I booked the “snug” room we were pleasantly surprised with the amount of space. Absolutely perfect for a short trip with everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back again. Gorgeous room looked recently painted and furnished as everything looked fresh and modern.

Although the bed was comfortable, the pillows were terrible (before booking there I read a comment saying that the pillows were like logs, and that's accurate). The room was very small. The bathroom was nice in size, and the pressure in the shower was good, but we couldn't figure out how to adjust the water temperature. I took a very hot shower, and my husband had a cold one.
The location is very central. We used the car park just in front of the hotel, which was very handy. During our short stay, it was quiet around (it was during the week).

I had asked a question via the booking.com portal that didn't get a response from the staff. Also it would have been good to have water in the room or a vending machine nearby. It was quite noisy around 3am with people leaving clubs etc but earplugs were provided.

The room was a lot smaller than expected even by euro standards. The window in our room opened up to the back area of a restaurant kitchen, so it was a bit noisy late at night with the window open & stuffy when the window was closed.
The place is a great location for a stay in Galway. Very clean.
