It was summer in the countryside - covering up to avoid midges is to be expected

A very peaceful couple of days surrounded by fields and views of the hills. Loved watching the donkeys, sheep and hares, and the sun rise over Croagh Patrick. Just a 20min drive from Westport (some of it on country lanes). The ‘hut’ is cosy, comfortable and well equipped - it’s delightful.

A peaceful location with a spectacular view on the Reek, two adorable donkeys that you can feed, waking up to birds chirping, well equipped kitchen with some welcome goodies from the hosts. A little pieces of paradise 🥰

I dont feel 5 stars is enough. We highly recommend the Hazel Hut. We absolutely loved everything about our stay. We were surrounded by natural beauty. The Hut had everything we needed, the bed was extremely comfortable, the hosts were so helpful. We will definitely try our best to get back again for another stay. Thank you. A beautiful part of Ireland 🇮🇪

We loved the location, very quiet. The hut is lovely and the bed was very comfortable. We were able to light a fire in the garden and in the hut.

We loved everything about our stay! We were so sad to leave. Seclusion was exactly what we were looking for and the Hazel Hut delivered! Beautiful views, comfy bed and the indoor fireplace kept us nice and cozy. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The location was beautiful and the perfect place for me to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. The hut was cosy and well designed with everything that I could possibly need. Looking out of my window from my bed to see Croagh Patrick was a fantastic way to start the day. Finally, the donkeys were a wonderful addition. Friendly and inquisitive, they put a smile on my face as soon as I saw them.

We stayed in The Hazel Hut for a weekend hike to Croagh Patrick. The hut is approx. 12 min drive to Croagh Patrick car park. It is also located in a remote but wonderful and peaceful place in the fields with stunning views of the mountains, the fields with sheep and donkeys, and a nearby creek. The hut itself had the essential stuff we needed, and the wood burner stove kept the place warm on chilly evenings. Thank you Lisa & Chris.

    Nothing Everything was great.

We had an amazing stay at the beautiful Hazel Hut. The location was magical, with Croagh Patrick in full view through the windows of the hut every morning. The sheep and donkeys really added to the country atmosphere too :) The hut itself is gorgeous and has everything you could need or want. We spent one of our evenings enjoying the landscape, drinking tea and reading some books left in the hut. It is only a twenty minute drive from Westport, so we also enjoyed heading into town for dinner. The next morning, we set off to climb the mountains. Would highly recommend it, and we are already looking forward to paying another visit soon. Thank you so much x

The Hazel Hut was perfect for our stay in Mayo. It was a 20 minute drive to Westport town, with the most incredible views of Croagh Patrick. With the wood burner on, it was incredibly cozy and we looked forward to coming back to the hut after a day of exploring. Can’t wait to come back! Would highly recommend a stay here for an authentic country feel, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Me and Jess Really enjoyed our stay, thank you so much. It was a hidden gem that we stumbled across and really glad we did now. Escape from the real world for a weekend. So peaceful, really lucky with the weather, we didn't even need to light the stove. The donkeys greeted us, we brought carrots. Everyone was happy. The hut had everything we needed and more. Thanks for leaving scones, milk etc very thoughtful. The journey in and out the country road with sheep laying on the roadside is a typical Irish scene you would see in a film. It added to the adventure. Local taxi firms who left us out even had a wee giggle to themselves. Couldn't fault it and who knows in the future could be back. Thank you.
