Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt was summer in the countryside - covering up to avoid midges is to be expected
A very peaceful couple of days surrounded by fields and views of the hills. Loved watching the donkeys, sheep and hares, and the sun rise over Croagh Patrick. Just a 20min drive from Westport (some of it on country lanes). The ‘hut’ is cosy, comfortable and well equipped - it’s delightful.

PolandA peaceful location with a spectacular view on the Reek, two adorable donkeys that you can feed, waking up to birds chirping, well equipped kitchen with some welcome goodies from the hosts. A little pieces of paradise 🥰

United KingdomThe location was beautiful and the perfect place for me to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the city. The hut was cosy and well designed with everything that I could possibly need. Looking out of my window from my bed to see Croagh Patrick was a fantastic way to start the day. Finally, the donkeys were a wonderful addition. Friendly and inquisitive, they put a smile on my face as soon as I saw them.

IrelandWe stayed in The Hazel Hut for a weekend hike to Croagh Patrick. The hut is approx. 12 min drive to Croagh Patrick car park. It is also located in a remote but wonderful and peaceful place in the fields with stunning views of the mountains, the fields with sheep and donkeys, and a nearby creek. The hut itself had the essential stuff we needed, and the wood burner stove kept the place warm on chilly evenings. Thank you Lisa & Chris.

IrelandNothing Everything was great.
We had an amazing stay at the beautiful Hazel Hut. The location was magical, with Croagh Patrick in full view through the windows of the hut every morning. The sheep and donkeys really added to the country atmosphere too :) The hut itself is gorgeous and has everything you could need or want. We spent one of our evenings enjoying the landscape, drinking tea and reading some books left in the hut. It is only a twenty minute drive from Westport, so we also enjoyed heading into town for dinner. The next morning, we set off to climb the mountains. Would highly recommend it, and we are already looking forward to paying another visit soon. Thank you so much x

IrelandThe Hazel Hut was perfect for our stay in Mayo. It was a 20 minute drive to Westport town, with the most incredible views of Croagh Patrick. With the wood burner on, it was incredibly cozy and we looked forward to coming back to the hut after a day of exploring. Can’t wait to come back! Would highly recommend a stay here for an authentic country feel, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

IrelandMe and Jess Really enjoyed our stay, thank you so much. It was a hidden gem that we stumbled across and really glad we did now. Escape from the real world for a weekend. So peaceful, really lucky with the weather, we didn't even need to light the stove. The donkeys greeted us, we brought carrots. Everyone was happy. The hut had everything we needed and more. Thanks for leaving scones, milk etc very thoughtful. The journey in and out the country road with sheep laying on the roadside is a typical Irish scene you would see in a film. It added to the adventure. Local taxi firms who left us out even had a wee giggle to themselves. Couldn't fault it and who knows in the future could be back. Thank you.
