A more powerful shower and a larger TV would have been nice, but it didn’t impact on our stay.

There was a good selection of breakfast options. The location was very central for the bars, restaurants and shops. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable.

There were a lot of stairs to negotiate in order to get to our room which was a bit of a pain with several suitcases. We didn't hear a lot of noise from outside but the walls between the rooms are quite thin to the extent that we could hear our "neighbour" snoring !

Excellent location right in the centre of Ballina with plenty of secure parking with CCTV. The room is well equipped and the bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean. Communication with the host was very good.

There was no communication prior to the stay other than a phone call an hour prior to our arrival to tell us that no staff was going to be there when we arrive and that a text message was sent with the door code. We received no such message. I had to message the property via booking.com to get the code. Upon arrival, we found that someone had used the toilet and there was fresh urine on the floor. When I wipe it up, it was wet and yellow. Additionally, in the message we received through booking.com we were informed that there was special parking rate for guests at the Pawn Lane parking lot, but when we checked out of the parking lot, the attendant had no clue about a special parking rate for The Loft guests. In the morning, when I went on to let the staff know that we were checking out, the two ladies did not even responded to my good morning greeting. All they wanted to know was that the bill was paid for the room which I assured them it was. They didn't even care that we did not eat the provided breakfast.

The bathroom was extremely small. A larger person might have difficulty manoeuvring.. Breakfast starts at 9:30, which was too late for me as I needed to be elsewhere.

Had a friendly call from the loft explaining the bar and restaurant wouldn't be open that evening and offering details of other places to eat. The room was clean and basic, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I didn't hear any noise from outside or other guests, so I slept well. 2 bottles of water in the room was a bonus as so many places in Ireland don't supply any. I've stayed in most of the hotels in Ballina over the past 10 years but would be happy to return to Loft. The carpark was very conveniently located and extremely cheap.

Lovely friendly staff, the food was fantastic - and a beautiful 'proper' Guinness first afternoon! :) Perfect location - everything walkable and close to the station too for those not driving.
