Nothing really it suited our needs. I did feel like if I touched anything at all I’d be charged for it but I think it’s necessary to have rules like that in place where there’s no front of house.

The location was ideal as we were going to a gig in the button factory which you could see from the door of the guesthouse.

Can't think of anything. Not a negative, but I'll use this space to say Temple Bar is a fantastic area! We had heard it was seedy, with the potential for crime, don't go out after dark, etc, etc, etc. None of this is remotely true. Temple Bar is great craic, the heartbeat of Dublin.

Modern, spacious lovely suite. The location is superb - right where you would want to be. Proprietor and staff went above and beyond. This is a self-service small hotel, but the cleaner helped us by accepting our luggage and getting our room ready as soon as possible when arrived over 4 hours before check-in! Super-quiet due to triple-glazed windows. Just a pleasure to stay at Merchant House.

Everything was great. The only thing missing was a teaspoon!

So well located for Temple and Dublin City. Be prepared for a few flights to the top and the Oscar Wilde suite. but totally worth it! Such a well appointed suite - with all the extras considered (although we only had coffee… we could have had mini bar). Quirky decor made it even more memorable. this is not a place like all the rest! Great, comfy bed too!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Merchant House. The location was excellent with loads of amenities on the doorstep. The room was spacious and well appointed and the bed was really comfortable. I could not fault it. The staff are very responsive and helpful. We will definitely booking to stay again.

The location for being in walking distance was great but didn’t venture out very late due to some very unsavory characters camped out in the doorway across the street

Our stay was during St. Patrick’s day and being so close to the Temple Bar we went in knowing there would be noise. However it was very mild did not keep us up. The location is perfect walked almost everywhere we wanted to go

It’s a little bit difficult to find. The numbering on the street is a bit weird and you’re looking for a nondescript black door between two shops. Only when you find it do you notice a small sign saying The Merchant House.

Almost everything, especially the Oscar Wilde suite.

Could not control room temp, was chilly in February. Toilet roll was not refilled. Also, would have been nice to know *how many* steps to get to room. Walking up 4 flights of narrow steps with 2 bags wasn’t great. I would have tried to book a lower room if I was aware which flight each was on.

    Location was 5 star!!!

Pillows were hard but certainly didn't ruin our time spent. Shower could be a bit more powerful, maybe needs a little service. Only small things but possibly worth mentioning.

Absolutely everything. It was beautiful, spotless clean, equipped with everything needed and safe. We stayed in The James Joyce suite and enjoyed every moment. Bathroom floor was heated, fragrance when we walked in was lovely and the coffee machine was a nice touch.

The water pressure in the shower was poor and had an inconsistent temperature. The mattress felt like poor quality to me but could be good for others.

I liked how the W B Yeats room was comfortably decorated. It had everything you would need and was spacious & very clean. Tea and coffee facilities were excellent. Bathroom was huge, well equipped and well lit. It also had a heated floor which was a lovely surprise.
