How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Larger than average bedroom, comfortable, clean, everything worked OK. Bar / restaurant was nice, plenty of bar staff on hand so the service was very good.

Pillows really bad and old.uncomfortable to sleep on. Breakfast was ok. Nothing great. Cheep coffee in the room paying such money I had much better experience in another places.

We thought the price was a little bit steep for a B&B.
By far, the best part about our stay was the staff. We honestly don't think we have ever had a place where the staff were so nice. We laughed at one stage wondering fi the staff thought we were VIPs, because they were being so nice!! This was particularly noticeable at the restaurant. Amazing. Well done to all.

TV is on an Internet signal . Couldn't watch TV. Signal for WiFi hopeless. Manager switched our room which was great . Owners need to upgrade WiFi. Not fair on staff dealing with this .

Could of has a blind or net curtain in room as we were facing o to the main road not alot of privacy.

Great size room, very comfortable. One of the best and most varied bar / restaurant menus I have seen in a long while. Food was good quality and great value for money

The rooms were very basic, could use some decor and updating to match the interior of the rest of the hotel. Maybe they are in the process of updating the rooms as the room we stayed in looked different than the pictures. Still was a decent room though
The hotel foyer was decorated lovely had a really modern feel to it. The bar and restaurant were also great, nice modern look. Food at Nanny Kelly’s bar was unbelievable we will be going back for another meal! The staff were polite and helpful. We stayed for NYE and there was live music and the bar handed out champagne for the countdown it was great

It's beginning to show it's age. One example is the table and seating chairs. But then once it's updated I'm sure the rates will increase. And with limited options in the area I don't want to see that.
I've stayed here before and nothing has really changed. And since there aren't many other options there's not much to compare it to.

The rooms are very very outdated they need a revamp.
Breakfast was good but a little over priced, for the price it should have included cereals and pastries.

I was woken twice, first by rowdy guests in the corridor (presumably from the wedding/function party), and later by something being dragged across the car park outside.
I made the booking at extremely short notice - the room was spacious, clean and all i needed for an unplanned night.

Very expensive for what if its is,tired and dated in places with buckets collecting leaking rainwater on the stairs

The receptionist. Rude, awkward and behind in terms of mannerisms and communication skills for her age.
I enjoyed the stay & the room. I’ve stayed in this property multiple times under my own name and my partners. I was late waking up, departing at 13:15.. my fault, I know. However, there were two girls on reception & when I went to check out, the tall one (at least she looked long when sitting) had the grumpiest look on her face and a terrible attitude. €105 was my rate & due to the late checkout she didn’t approach it friendly at all by informing me of a charge, which I’d happily pay being in the wrong.. instead she said “You’re paying 130”. Extremely rude, very poor social skills and overall just a very awkward person she was. The smaller girl was quiet, polite. However, regardless of the late departure, her mannerism so immensely poor and I hope some training course can be provided for her to help her develop socially especially in the hospitality sector.
