Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Very kind! They do everything for their guests, also for us. We kindly asked if they had hot chocolate for our kids, they only had tea and coffee, but the 2nd day at the breakfast they told us they have brought hot chocolate just for our kids! Not every hotel would do this and we really appreciated it! We would return to this B&B if we would ever come back to Irland!

Everything, so comfortable, great breakfast, beautiful room, owner was there to greet you. Help you and recommend restaurants in the area. Also gave us advice on tourist destinations and just couldn’t be more helpful.
Friendly, knowledgeable, very professional and a fantastic host. Would stay there again and recommend to all my family and friends

It was a fabulous stay in the tides b&b. David was very welcoming and accommodating throughout and breakfast was top class. Clean spacious and comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay again if back in Ballybunion.

Good parking, convenient location, great bathroom, great bed. The wi-fi connection was good. I had a buffet breakfast and chose cereal, pastries, orange juice and tea, not much but faultless and fresh, which has not been the case elsewhere.

Everything was excellent.
The property was immaculately kept, a wonderful experience. the beds and showers were divine and David did everything to make our stay enjoyable. the breakfast was lovely also, a truly 5 star experience!

There was nothing I did not like. The bedroom was clean and comfortable with an extensive bath/shower and toilet room attached. The B and B met and exceeded my expectations. Everything we needed for our stay was there.
I was very pleasantly surprised by all aspects of this bed and breakfast. Firstly, there is a magnificent view of the ocean and landscape from the premises. Staff worked invisibly to make our stay comfortable and hospitable. Breakfast was delivered with perfect timing and was cooked perfectly. The host was friendly, yet non intrusive.

Nothing! Just fabulous!
Where do I start? My first time staying at a BnB and now I’m considering never going back to hotels. Loved the comfortable room, spacious and quiet. The washroom was immaculate and lovely with all amenities. In the corner of the room, you’ll find just what you need to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a wine fridge to add your favourites for a cozy night on the couch. Go for the breakfast...you’ll thank me for the recommendation! It has everything a person would want from vegan to meat eater. The hosts of the house are so lovely! So helpful and attentive to anything you need and lots of recommendations when you’re touring around Ireland. This BnB is a 15 mins walk away from the Main Street of Ballybunnion where you can enjoy beautiful beach and its cliffs...lots of local pubs and a grocery store to grab whatever else you’d like for your stay. This BnB is perfect for a quiet, relaxing stay. We were visiting from Canada and visiting all over Europe, from France, to Scotland and all over Ireland...this place was the best! Highly recommend!

Ballybunion itself most places were closed although to be fair it was the beginning of the week. Nice places to visit nearby although you do need a car.
The room was exceptional more like a private suite. Completely spotless. The breakfast was superb.

David and Doreen were genuinely extremely welcoming, friendly and informative hosts they made our stay most pleasurable from beginning to end, it is spotlessly clean inside and out, the beds were so comfortable, we would highly recommend it and it's great value for money all round, the breakfast was superb and the choice catered for everyone's taste it filled us up for the best part of the day and a million thanks and appreciation to David and Doreen for looking after us so well, it totally exceeded our expectations.
