Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandGoogle maps suggested that we had arrived earlier on the road (very quiet and unlit) before we had actually reached the property which led to some worry before we travelled further down the road and found the property. A bit of extra signage at that point, or an indication of the distance of the house down the road after the final turn would be helpful.
Gorgeous property, beautiful if remote surroundings but warm welcome and cosy, generous facilities which were perfect at the end of a long day.

United States of AmericaThat we arrived so late that we couldn't enjoy spending more time in the drawing room by the fire, or having a drink at the bar.
Staying at The Waters Country House is like staying at a friend's fancy retreat. You can relax in the common rooms and interact with other travelers-a unique experience. My husband and teen daughter played chess in the library while I read in the drawing room. Can you imagine a teen playing chess on vacation in a library beside a fire instead of looking at their phone? I couldn't! The breakfast was wonderful and the service exceptional. It was a treat to meet and stay with Wolfgang and Maria. The memories made here will last a lifetime!

United KingdomThe Waters is in a beautiful, quiet location with lovely views. The decor inside was stunning and the spring beneath the hotel was a lovely feature. We received a very warm welcome from the hosts Maria and Wolfgang, who were ever so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and I definitely will be coming back for another visit.

Maria and Wolfgang were wonderful hosts, very welcoming and friendly! I loved the well inside the house with fresh spring water. There was a cozy lounge to relax in with a fireplace with books. The room was comfortable and clean, quiet. The cooked Irish breakfast was amazing!! Loved my stay. The area around the accommodation was very peaceful. I liked everything - no tea or coffee facilities in the room but it was upstairs so no problem.

United KingdomBeautiful and eclectic property, we stayed in one of the outside rooms, it was really cosy and there was a kettle and fridge in the foyer area. Breakfast was incredible and the rooms were gorgeous. Hosts are fantastic. Can have a drink in the evening, hosts provide an honesty box and there are roaring fires. It is a little off the beaten track but surroundings are awe inspiring.

United States of AmericaI didn’t like the squeaky floors in our bedroom and I could easily hear other quests open and close their door.

United States of AmericaThe only thing I can think to complain about was the lack of sheets on the bed and the fact that the bed was not already made. Everything was folding and ready on the beds but there were only blankets and no sheets.
The Waters exceeded our expectations. A mix between a hotel and a bed and breakfast we enjoyed walking around and using the common areas. The fires were lit and warm and the atmosphere was pleasant. My husband and I played cards and drank a glass of wine before heading back to our room for the night. The room was a small apartment away from the main building and was quiet and warm and we slept soundly. The space was a little tight for two people and luggage but doable especially with having the common spaces available in the hotel too hang out at. Would definitely return.

GermanyThe Waters felt like a home away from home. It is the most romantic and Cosy spot we‘ve ever been to. One could really calm down and detox and meet the other tourists or the owner for a chat. The breakfast was great and one could really enjoy being in the moment.

Everything about this small hotel was excellent. The owners were wonderful and made us feel right at home. We were a group of seven and had four rooms. The rooms were small but beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. We all marveled at how unique and beautifully constructed the place was. Wolfgang made us feel like family. We wished we would have had more nights there. We would definitely recommend it to others. This place was a favorite of ours.
