How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewLocation is good , easy to get Ola/Auto . Around 2.5 Km to the temple.
Car Parking is on the road, which is inconvenient. The room has no proper ventilation. The bathroom is extremely cramped, making it uncomfortable even to use the commode. No coffee/tea or water bottles were provided. Towels were not kept in the room, and only after calling did we receive just one towel. Overall, this was not a good homestay experience and certainly not worth ₹3,824 for one night. I booked this place after reading all the positive reviews, but based on my experience, I now feel those reviews are either manipulated or fake.

We told you cannot provide you with direct booking..... So the bad review come from you...No issues sir we are doing our work properly.... Last point you mentioned (Amount and fake reviews in booking.com ) Please don't tell my customers they are fake they all are our family's...wat we have given to them..They gave good reviews.... 1.car parking is near our property with security watchman (We mentioned in booking.com it's private car parking) 2.The room you choose in booking.com is ( clearly shown in photo ventilation available)plz don't tell any lie... 3.we didn't mention anything completely like (coffee,tea, Water bottle)

Verified reviewThe rooms were clean, comfy and spacious. The location also good. Shops, stores nice bars and restaurants nearby The Manager, Sayed, was very helpful to protect me when I had uncomfortable issues with a taxi driver.. He went out of his way to solve this problem for me and spent a lot of time for it. Thank u very much for this. Sayed was also helpful with organising Taxis and Tuktuk for pickup. I liked that they have a food order service from a very good and affordable veg restaurant. Danivam the doorman was also really friendly and nice.. I recommend to choose this homestay.
Sayed, u are doing a really good job. That's why there is no need of asking everyday for good review since good rewiew will usually come alone for good service. Sayed, No need to pressure urself with it and asking the guests everyday for it because you are a good host. Trust in yourself! Just one advise: Dont make compliments and don't ask personal questions like the marriage status and the age to solo female travelors in the first whatsapp conversation due to the booking because this can cause uncomfortable feelings and can lead them even to cancel the booking. Since we are solo female travelors and we are dependent on a safe and professional place to stay. And when u are starting such a conversation it will make us feel unsafe. Since u ARE a very safe and trustworthy person, do not work against urself please. When u are offering a nice gesture of hospitaliy like dropping someone to town, it's always good to clarify before issues like the expences you will need to have covered and clarity the amount as well beforehand, not after. Please don't forget to give back balance when a guest is paying for a room or other services. For me I even often give back the balance as a tip to the hosts but I want at least to have the choice of doing it or not. In my case u have forgotten it. This can cause irritation. When offering tours with your tour company green travels, it would be helpful to clarify before when where are any obstacles that can restrict the tour experience. for the guest. In my case, because of indipendence day, the most important sight seeing places where so much overcrowded that I was not able to enter any of them and the museum was also closed due to holiday. Please tell such things to your foreign guests because they don't know this, so that they can decide if they want to book in that situation ot you just adjust the tour, make it shorter and provide some discount for it.

Verified reviewWe had a very pleasant stay at Aishwaryam Home stay Madurai. The staff were amazing, always helpful and friendly. The villa was clean and comfortable. A special thanks to the Room service who were kind enough to prepare meals for my baby whenever I requested. Truly appreciated the care and hospitality. Highly recommend this place!🇦🇺

All the details given below very very important point customer name: Bala Subramani sir I'd : 5701436700 (I will cancel the booking you give it directly ) I asked why??? He is telling tax and commission no need to pay... The customer forced me to put the bookings to director bookings.... I have strictly told not possible sir... The Manager, Mr. Sayed insisted for payment in cash/UPI amounts that I did not carry. Will not accept credit cards, per him CC are nothing more than avoidable hassles? For such properties Booking.com and other vendors need to take payment on line during booking process itself!

Verified reviewThe room was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully arranged, with plenty of storage space and a neat, functional layout. What stood out was the warm and attentive hospitality of the manager, Mr. Sayed Rahim. He called me soon after booking to confirm my request for an electric kettle, and throughout my stay, he personally arranged for meals and quickly addressed even small needs.
There wasn’t really anything I disliked. If I had to nitpick, perhaps the lack of an in-house restaurant—but with so many options just a short walk away, it’s hardly a drawback.
