How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe guest house is located in a nice area and close to dal lake and many other attractions. The room was spacious and even better than the pictures. The bathroom was clean and hot water was available all the time. The food at the house is excellent and very tasty. I enjoyed the Kashmiri breakfast every morning and the few dinners I had there. The host Mushtak is very friendly and helpful who took good care of all my needs. It is a great accommodation with reasonable rates in a pretty house where you get the Kashmiri vibes. Will visit again.
Everything was great

Verified reviewIt's an amazing experience staying in Dil Aram Guest House. We were 4 friends staying there for four nights and we are very Happy for their wonderful behaviour and great hospitality as well. Location was good too and good parking space in the premises. The property is well decorated with big rooms. Mustaq-ji is a wonderful person by all means. I will visit again in near future with my family. I recommend to others to visit the place to experience the same like me. I am sure no one can avoid the place for the 2nd time visit. Don't worry for the current situation. Come and visit the place, there is nothing to worry for any kind of current situation in terms of terrorism. We didn't cancel our trip but continued with our original plan. We are very happy with our current Kashmir joyous trip. Looking forward to visit again. Thanks to everyone in Kashmir those who are associated with us. Lastly special thanks to Mustaq-ji of Dil Aram Guest House

Verified reviewThis is an excellent homestay close to the quieter end of Dal Lake. It’s spotlessly clean! The Tulip Gardens and Nishat Bagh are within easy walking distance. Mushtak was a fabulous host who organised all our excursions for us at a reasonable price. He really went out of his way to assist us with anything and we are so grateful. We ate breakfast and evening meals here too and were extremely happy with it all. I thoroughly recommend Mushtak’s homestay. You can be fully confident of a great time.

Verified reviewI loved the hospitality of this place . Uncle Mustaque and his family took very good care of me and my mum , we loved every bit of this place . Food was very good, morning breakfast, lunch and dinner all are served at this homestay . The location of this place is in vakeel colony which is 15min away by walk from dal lake , 25 min away by walk from tulip garden, nishat garden is 20min walk away and is well connected with the main road . The location is very serene , peaceful ,surrounded by lush green mountains and a beautiful lawn with garden . I would highly recommend this place to everyone who wants a comfortable stay with a peaceful atmosphere along with first class hospitality. Waiting to come back again, soon! 😁

Verified reviewIt's a perfect stay for a family or just about anyone who is looking for a calm place far from the hustle and bustle of the city; yet close to the key tourist areas. Mushtaq ji's family is very warm and welcoming. They ensured that we reach their place safely. They kept in touch while we were on the way. The thing that makes the stay with them stand out from the other commercial properties is their hospitality and personal touch. Mushtaq ji's wife herself prepared a dinner for us and it was heavenly good. On the last day of our stay, Mushtaq ji went an extra mile to take us shopping which was beyond our expectation. All of their efforts are highly appreciated. It was great to talk to them and it never felt like we were there just to spend the night. Right from arriving to Srinagar to arranging commute to the airport they tried to make our trip as comfortable as possible. Thanks a lot! Special call out to their cat Habibi who is absolutely adorable and a jewel of the property.
Nothing. Would recommend everyone going to Srinagar to stay with them.

Frequent powercuts were there, which is a a issue in summers since fan wasn't working with their power backup.

Verified reviewBehaviour and hospitality of the owners. They provide us customised home cook food which was good. Mushtaq bhai also arranged auto/car for us for sightseeing and airport drop.
Availability of public transport like auto or taxi. You have to depend on the owner for transportation. Electricity failure was also an issue.

Verified reviewThe room is new, clean, warm and spacious. Quiet area. Rooms with big windows. They have the electrical blankets. Bathroom is so clean. Nice host who are very helpful. Price is affordable, good value. Home cook food if you order.
Electricity problem, during the electricity cut which is common in Kashmir, with the backup electricity, no socket works, that means no warm blanket, no charging, only lights, compare with some other hotel we have stayed in Kashmir, at least 1 socket works. Location is quite far from restaurants.

Verified reviewLovely guesthouse and very welcoming family. Good location for the tulip and Mughal gardens. I walked to them all because I enjoy walking and this guesthouse is perfect if you are happy with walking. A little far to go into town by foot but the owner can organise transport. Lovely home cooked food is available too.
Power is not always working but that isn't unique to this Guesthouse. Water didn't come out of the shower head very powerful so I just used the bucket which was fine but maybe not for everyone.
