We had the most amazing experience and absolutely enjoyed our stay! The guesthouse is unique as it is a stunning old Portuguese heritage building and the owner, James, is a lovely host who made us feel very welcome in his home. Also, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful.

This is not a hotel you are staying with James in his very old very traditional house. It was great. James and his staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We spent lots of time chatting with James and his brother and learning lots of things about Mumbai and India. They advised us where to eat and how to get where we wanted to go. It was such a special experience.

You’ll be fed a delicious breakfast to start your day and given tips of where to visit during York stay. This heritage home and village in the center of Mumbai is a gem.

The only issue was that we ended up talking to James and his other guests longer than we expected! But that was a great part of the experience.

James was an engaging and generous host. He made us feel so welcome in India. The rooms are comfortable, clean and private and food was served when we wanted it. James's staff were very helpful with our bags and organising transport. We can not recommend this place more.

Like anywhere in Mumbai, there is some external noise, although this settles down by bedtime.

The owner, James, is a wealth of information on the are and a charming and genial host. The interior decor is a world away from the glitzy corporates that dominate the Mumbai hotel scene. This is much more like a home stay with some lovely attention to detail. The simple breakfasts are very welcome before striding out onto the streets of the city. The house along with it's neighbours represents the vestiges of a traditional Portuguese community dating back hundreds of years. There is a railway station a few minutes walk away, from where very regular trains run down to the historic heart of South Mumbai for a fare of just five rupees.

Beautiful Portuguese house decorated with vintage furniture, with a lot of charm, conveniently located. James welcomed us very warmly and made us feel very comfortable. We had a great time there, definitely recommend!

A unique experience - both the property and its owner James are overflowing with character. The neighbourhood is interesting and well-located. LGBT+ friendly. We would have liked to stay longer.
