Beds are not comfortable - mattresses are old and sinking in. Good to remember that some of the rooms do not have the shower/toilet en suite. You have to step out of the room. Tough to get taxis during peak hours. The walk out of the lane is not 100 meters - but more. The non-refundable policy is enforced without any discussion entertained. I needed to take a flight out a day earlier - and there was simply a rejection for my request without any conversation.

Private terrace had not been cleaned. Room was clean, but was not cleaned, or bins emptied during our stay. We were offered room cleaning on day 3. No toilet paper. Internet worked some of the time but often didn’t.

Beautiful heritage property, restored old Haveli, down alleyways in the old city. Large comfortable room, big comfortable bed, spacious shower with good hot water. Private terrace overlooking street and rooftops. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.

I didn’t like the neighborhood we walked through to get there. It was a little off the way for the sights we wanted to see and not all Tuktuk s drove us to the door.

I liked that it was an old house and well restored. The mattress was soft. It was charming. I liked the book exchange shelf and looking over the rooves of the neighborhood.

Rooms need renovation. I know it's a heritage property, but it can be renovated to add big stairs if not lift. Also, walls need to be repainted. Cars don't reach, so you can't take a taxi but need to take auto or walk. There are not many food options. If you don't want to eat in the hotel, then you have to walk for at least 15 mins to get something, which is not good if you have small kids or old people within your group.

If you are planning to stay in the Chabutaro room, do remember to bring earplugs because it's at the front of the house and you can hear any noise outside quite clearly. We had earplugs and it was not a problem.

Be aware that it is not so easy to reach the place by tuktuk. There is another place with a similar name, so they can get confused sometimes.

The people at French Haveli are really welcoming and helpful. The guest house looks super beautiful and made us very comfortable. The place is in a calm corner of the old city, so it is pretty quiet compared to the rest of the area. We will definitively come back if we are in Ahmedabad :).

The old town is noisy - we were woken up by motorbikes, drumming and the property's own water tank motor very early in the morning. The property could be improved with more attention to detail e.g. nicer towels. The property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep.

Liked the location in the old town and the beauty of the building. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly.

A stunning property in a beautiful pol! Bansi, the caretaker of the haveli, is attentive and Bento cooks delicious meals! The interior decor is a visual delight.

Breakfast served 30 minutes after agreed time. Pillows and possibly mattresses need to be changed. Blocked up shower.

At the end when we paid the bill, we have to pay 2.000 Rs for tea not knowing that we have to pay for every extra cup of tea. Nobody communicate it in advance but that would be better.

Wonderful location in the old town of Ahmedabad - quiet and nice accommodation. Very friendly and polite stuff - especially the one who did all the cleaning, preparing the breakfast, preparing the rooms - unfortunately we saw him sleeping on the desk of the kitchen desk in the night- very sad to see.

As a solo female traveller arriving after dark, finding the property was a little difficult but Mr Bansi did come to meet me. Please note that only tuk tuks can reach the front of the property.

The breakfasts prepared were excellent and the staff were very helpful organising a tuk tuk to the airport at short notice.

To be frank nothing is there which I did not like about this propoerty.

This was one of the most beautiful stays I would have ever expected in Ahmedabad and the caretaker was always there to help you out, Thank you Bansi Bhaiya!!!

A telephone in the room must have been nicer. And the edges of the window could have been more filled as I felt there was gaps along the corners and edges

I like the ambience and the feel of living in old haveli. But, the location was a bit off for me. Staff was good and helping in nature. They also called taxi when uber denied to come at the location. Being there by myself I felt a little bit uncomfortable walking along the lanes of old Ahmedabad. But the hotel was good

It was difficult with English and with the cost, in comparison, the value just wasn’t there.

It is quirky and a unique experience. The larger rooms are spacious and comfortable with large bathrooms

I had to wake up the staff myself by opening the frontdoor and ringing the bell (sorry other guests) for my - clearly communicated -early start to the airport. Other than that they were kind and helpful

lovely place, amazingly decorated, I wish I could have stayed more than one night.I extended a workgroup to Ahmedabad and was glad I discovered this place. It seemed hard to communicate with staff over the phone, but then they got the taxidriver to call me back and communications with him were easy.

We got an upgrade, hence cannot say if the room we were allotted was worth it. But its a beautiful place and Bansi was very helpful. Thank You.

There was a severe language problem with the other main staff member meaning our food/room orders were frequently incorrect which was quite frustrating. The stairs were fine for us but would be almost impossible for anyone with mobility issues.

A lovely, character place in an interesting and central location. Our room had its own terrace overlooking the narrow street lanes and neighbouring Jain temple where we ate breakfast each morning. The main host, Mr Bundi, is a very lovely, kind and helpful person. I would recommend people stay here.

a bit too noisy from the early morning, but a part from that the people who run the place are nice and available.

Historical little palace in the old city, it's one of the best structures to stay if you visit Ahmedabad, walking distance from most important monuments.
