How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe breakfast was extraordinary, and the staff members were very kind. It was great to receive information from the staff about the various activities and adventures available. Everyone was helpful, and we enjoyed playing in the covered multipurpose court. Inika Resort is a place where you can feel free.

Verified review• The food was excellent (very delicious) 80% of the time. There were a couple of dishes that weren’t bad, but could’ve been better – for instance, the noodles and biryani were dripping in oil. • The free buffet breakfast spread was decent, catering only to the Indian taste palette. • The restaurant has a beautiful dining area, with lots of seating space. They also have a campfire area attached, which groups can use on demand, I guess. • The cottages and surroundings look aesthetically pleasing. The rooms are pretty clean as well, except that we received stained bed sheets on the first night. • The cottages are placed at a decent distance from each other, so you have some privacy and don’t have to worry about noisy neighbours. • The pool is small but clean. They have lounge chairs, and they give you beach towels if you ask. • They’ve a small turf outdoor area right at the entrance, where you can play football, badminton, or cricket. You need to ask the security guard for equipment. • They have parking space for around 10 - 12 cars. • The staff are courteous - not overtly helpful, but polite. The women staff were on leave until the day we were checking out, so I guess they had other team members filling in at the front desk. • They are quick to try and address concerns or requests.
• The last 5 kms leading up to the resort are in dismal condition. Of course, INIKA may not have control over this, but they could at least give you a warning before arrival. • The cabins lack basic amenities like a mini-fridge, safe, ironing board, or hairdryer - even though the Booking.com listing mentions these. • The ceilings of the cottages are made of asbestos, covered with wallpaper - confirmed by the staff. This makes the rooms hotter during the day. They hadn’t kept the AC running before our check-in, so the cabin was extremely hot for the first few hours. To make things worse, there were frequent power outages (due to some external maintenance work) during our stay, which led the ACs to go on and off. To be fair, the outages were not under the property’s control. • The resort is set in a forest-like area, so insects are expected. But they don’t have any deterrents to keep these bugs away. They do have some warning literature placed in the rooms, which frankly can feel a bit scary. • My biggest grouse is that they only offer two complimentary water bottles in the room/day. If you need more, each additional bottle costs ₹99 (for a regular ₹20 Bisleri bottle)! Worse, there’s no provision for free drinking water anywhere on the property, including the restaurant. We didn’t see any grocery stores nearby either. Even if there were, not providing basic drinking water during peak summer is almost cruel, especially when you’re staying with kids. • Since there are no other restaurants nearby, you’re entirely dependent on their in-house restaurant for all your meals. • They charge a 5% service charge on restaurant bills, and this isn’t informed in advance. • The ‘game room’ is very basic - a TT table, a worn-out carrom board, a pool table, a foosball table, and four gym equipment (not plugged into power) that seem poorly maintained or bought as second-hand. • The Wi-Fi is decent but keeps disconnecting often.
Dear Ragesh, thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your recent stay at our resort. We truly appreciate the time you took to highlight both the positives and areas where you felt we could improve. We’re glad you enjoyed many aspects of your stay. However, we’d like to clarify and respond to a few of the concerns you’ve raised - Linen Quality - We want to assure you that stained bed sheets are not something we provide under any circumstance. All our rooms undergo a thorough cleaning and a complete linen change after each guest's checkout. If there was any issue during your stay, we would have appreciated the opportunity to address it on the spot. Road Conditions - The last stretch of road leading up to the resort is maintained by local authorities and is indeed outside our control. Room Amenities - Our cabins are designed to offer a minimalist and close to nature experience. While not all amenities are placed in the room, items like hairdryers and ironing boards are available upon request. Ceiling Material - Our cottages are not constructed using asbestos. Asbestos is a banned material, and we've used safe, approved building materials throughout our property. Cooling & Power Outages - Air conditions are turned on before guest arrival for maximum comfort. We’re sorry to learn this wasn’t your experience and we suspect the temporary power maintenance in the area may have interfered. Insects & Wildlife - We conduct regular pest control and do our best to keep rooms well sealed. The literature in the room is intended to keep guests informed, not alarmed. Drinking Water - We provide complimentary bottles of water per day in the room, and filtered drinking water is always available free of charge upon request. Branded bottled water carries a standard fee, but safe drinking water is never refused to any guest. Food Options & Pricing - Our resort is in a secluded location, and while this limits nearby dining choices, our restaurant provides freshly prepared menu at reasonable prices. A 5% service charge is applied to help support our hardworking staff and it is lower than the industry average which can be up to 15%. Hospitality & Staff - We genuinely value hospitality and understand your feedback regarding warmth and interaction. While our team is polite and responsive, many are from the local community and still building confidence in guest engagement. We’ve chosen to train local staff as part of our commitment to creating rural employment. This may sometimes come across as a quieter or more reserved experience. That said, we’re continually working on improving their skills and guest interaction. Regarding gestures toward children, we are mindful of boundaries and prefer not to engage in ways that could be misinterpreted. Wi-Fi & Game Room - We acknowledge that mobile network coverage is limited in our area, and while Wi-Fi is provided, it may occasionally be unstable due to our remote location. As for the game room, its proportionate to the size of our resort and offers a variety of activities. All equipments are maintained regularly, and the wear and tear reflects the popularity rather than poor quality. Resort Size & Value - Our resort is an intimate property with carefully designed cottages. We believe that what makes a resort isn’t just the size, but the quality of space, experience, and the personalised attention we’re able to offer. We may not offer a jam packed itinerary or luxury trappings, but we aim to deliver tranquillity, beauty, and genuine hospitality. For many of our guests, that’s exactly what they come here for. In Summary - We respect that our resort may not be for everyone. While some may seek a more conventional experience, others find solace in the simplicity and natural beauty that we offer. We’re grateful you chose to stay with us, and we hope that if you decide to return, we’ll have the chance to show you how we’ve improved. Best wishes - Team Inika

Verified reviewStaff are amazing, From Veema and Chengappa to Sheetal, Gagan and Shishir are wonderful people. If you want to plan any activities reach out to Chengappa. Restaurant has great food with big servings. Pool area is nicely done and rest of the property is beautiful.
The individual cabins are probably great but I did not stay in them. The adjoining rooms are badly insulated, which means that any conversation in the other room can be heard with no effort. If the neighbour pulls an all nighter, so will you. I would not stay in these rooms again.
