1. Facilities were quite poor for the price of approx 9.5k per night. No kettle, no tea coffee provided in the room. They geyser has hot water for exactly 3 minutes which is not ideal. Also, there was no safe provided in the room. The bathroom lights are too dark and dingy. It needs a brighter light. 2. Pondicherry has a massive mosquito problem. Given this, the property should have the right facilities for tackling this. In the outside areas, although very nice to sit in, they have no mosquito coils, no mosquito repellant available, no mosquito rackets, or any fumigation that takes place. We did ask but none of this was available. 3. Cleanliness - The room floor was very very dirty or dusty. You can't see it as it is a cement floor, but it definitely needed a clean. There is a common fridge in the kitchen for guests to use but the state of it was quite a mess and the kitchen was quite dirty too. 4. One of the biggest drawbacks (and I suspect this is common to all hotels on that road) is the parking. There is no parking on the street and the one parking lot in that area is supposedly maintained by the municipality at the end of the road has no prices and at night it seemed completely unguarded and thoroughly unsafe with no cctv, no accountability or anything. We did not feel comfortable at all parking our car there. PS - the wiring in the room needs looking into - the double switch controlling the main light and fan doesn't work as intended.

Bhuvana and Shiva are lovely people and our check-in was smooth. Room size was good, and the location was convenient. I really liked that they gave us coupons to try nearby restaurants. AC and cooling in the room was great. Outside areas are nice to relax in.

We missed out on the breakfast because we ran out of time for our appointment. Would be great if the breakfast could be service a bit earlier than 8am.

Clean and cute little place in the historic White Town. Rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

However I believe for the price, property could provide a few things: Staff should be equipped with info for few car rentals and scooty rentals. A private car service might also be helpful, usually all big hotels provide one. Another issue, no dental kit was provided. May be they missed it this time but it should be provided, if it’s not provided at all.

Property was clean and location was superb! 1min walk to beach. Staff was cordial and breakfast was good too, the homemade jam was delightful :)

There could be some memorabilia or pictures depicting the history of the place …to make it interesting… Didn’t see the name of the hotel at the entrance door for some reason ..outer walls could do with a coat of paint .

Located right in the heart of White Town, La Cedille was a superb pick for a hotel. The staff was extremely helpful be it from recommendations for things to do around the area to renting a two wheeler and even a last minute taxi for a ride back into Chennai. Big thanks to Shiva, Bhuvaneshwari, Ravi, Shankar and the very homely Akkas-Vijayalakshmi and Vidhya.

I have some minor mobility issues and the stairs were a bit of a challenge.

The location, one street from the promenade, is brilliant. The hotel is set in a 150 year old residence. It still shows some signs of age but the rooms are comfortable and provide all standard amenities. The breakfast was very generous.

My room was along the street so a but nousy, first because of the cars and the motorcycles, then because of the dog fighting. I think it must be quiet in the other rooms

The room was very big and the bed very comfortable. It was also clean. The staff at the reception was very friendly. The breakfast was excellent with someone preparing you eggs, fruit salad, drinks etc… They don’t have butter but instead they have a spicy coconut cream to spread on bread, a delight.
