The church service across the road was very loud and woke me up at 5am. It was not a pleasant start to the day. Least I wasn't late.

The owners were kind and helpful. They were also knowledgeable and flexible. The room was exceptional clean and comfortable. Makes a mean cuppa of masala tea.

The homestay is conveniently close to the beach, just a short walk away. The host was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was tailored to my requests, and they even prepared special drinks for my child, which were much appreciated. The rooms and the entire house were clean, well-maintained, and the internet connection was excellent.

We had a fantastic stay at Mary Land Homestay, thanks to Edwin and his warm hospitality. Communication before our arrival was excellent—he arranged our airport pickup and was incredibly gracious when our flight was delayed, welcoming us even when it was late at night/early the next morning. Our room was spacious and well-equipped, with comfy beds, air conditioning, fresh towels, and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight was the delicious breakfast prepared by Edwin’s wife—homemade and full of local flavours. Edwin and his wife are a genuinely kind and welcoming couple, always ready with helpful advice for the next leg of our journey. Their warmth and generosity made our time in Kerala even more special. I highly recommend staying here!

Cannot think of anything

The studio was clean spacious and options for seating. Lighting options were in abundance so options to have your room as you prefer. The aircon worked great and the fans too. There is a lovely courtyard with plants inc waterlilly/lotus plants around the coffee tables and chairs. Access to wash and dry clothes and table for 6 upstairs if preferred to eat inside. The novel decor made us smile and the beds were very comfy! The real stand out was how well we were cared for as there was nothing too much trouble and even late at night when we felt ill (not from the stay) they prepared some lemon tea and water. They offered and spoke to onward hotels planned a great itinerary with a driver for us and even made a great suggestion for us to use the train as best value and even supported by the driver of tuck-tuck to help us buy tickets. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and when we did our washing they even kindly brought this to us afterwards which was so very kind. Honestly cannot have had a better stay as we were put at ease and didn’t have to worry about anything…we didn’t want to leave! thank you

Some reviews have mentioned the noise from the nearby church. Experiencing noise is common in India. There are a couple of options: (1) wear earplugs and (2) wake with the morning bells! Waking early means that you can do some sightseeing before it gets too hot. Then from 12-4 (when it's hottest), you could have lunch and rest before resuming when it cools down.

We had the whole of one villa. It had two floors. There was a nice sitting room area next to a dining table. We had a rooftop lounging area too. Edwin and Ashley (including son Jerrick and dad Kanaka Raj) were warm, welcoming, and friendly guests. They were very helpful and did lots for us. The breakfast was tasty. The air-conditioning in the bedrooms was effective.

This is not a "whole villa". It is just a single room with access to a shared pool. Location is nothing special, although there are plenty of Tuk-Tuks to get you places.

We had a whole house for us. Nice furniture, very clean. Hosts were incredible, very friendly, they helped us with our travel arrangements and gave us the opportunity for a late check out. Delicious Kerala breakfast was the cherry on the cake!

We had a two room apartment that was very clean and had a very fun vibe - almost like a bachelor pad. Each room had its own key and opened into a common space that was open to outside and included the small pool and patio area. Our time here was limited, but we really wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy this fun space with our group! The owner was very friendly and helpful. We do not know about the neighborhood as we had no chance to walk around.

The localisation is great. Close to the City Center but still out of the hectic City Center. The pool was great for the kids. And the hosts where super helpfull.

We got there late in the evening after one of those really bad travel days. The homestay is far away from restaurants, but hosts Edward and Ashley were so lovely and ordered us some food for home delivery as we were starving. The room is so clean, the seating area in the garden cozy and the 3 days we stayed we got served different Kereala breakfast every morning which was lovely! Download Uber app like this you can order a Tuk Tuk. Or Edward and Ashley will help you out as they know the area and can get a Tuk Tuk for you. The hosts helped us out in many ways the days we stayed. I highly recommend this place and would love to come again.
