We were 4 friends in two rooms and we were super happy about our stay. The only negative was related to cleaning; i.e. changing bed linens and emptying trash cans but that's easy to fix.

Mateus Boutique is perfectly located in the Portuguese quarter of Panjim. The staff is extremely helpful, easy going and nice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed.

The room, because of its size and small windows that looked onto other buildings, felt a little claustrophobic. The breakfast was meh. But the staff were very sweet and helpful. And location is great, especially if you want to explore the historic center of Panjim.

Mateus Boutique hotel was long on charm but short on amenities. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was just OK but the neighborhood was interesting with many buildings from the colonial era. Great for travelers on a budget.

Difficult to reach prior to arriving - did not reply via booking.com but then easily accessible via whatsapp.

Clean room, great AC, very comfortable. Staff were kind and welcoming. Great location right in the middle of the Latin quarter.

The hotel is a beautiful old house and is perfectly located, a stone throw away from all the bars and restaurants. Room was great and quiet.

A perfect stay in a beautiful part of panjim. The 150yr old property has been renovated beautifully & in keeping with a heritage home. Staff are amazingly helpful, breakfast delicious & great restaurants, bars & shops on your doorstep.. I would keep returning.

The bathrugs are terrible. Very old and raggedy. They didn’t sweep the floors properly either. No napkins in the bathroom. Toiletries were not good.

The location and the decor is very good. The manager Ashfaq and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

My room smelt a bit damp but the hotel is boutique style and in an old colonial building so expected. My room came off the main reception/restaurant so it was a bit loud at times.

Great location for exploring the Portuguese quarter of Panjim. Everything is walkable from this area. Quiet location set back from the road.

Staff need more training, we had problems with our toilet and AC they weren’t capable of fixing it having to constantly phone the manager. Had to change rooms which wasn’t easy to make them understand we needed a refund as downgraded.

The room needed a little TLC, we had to ask for an extra pillow and sheet as the bed just had a small pillow each and a blanket, it was a little damp and the walls were marked in areas, the bathroom was also a little tired. The check in staff could have been more attentive and give a more detailed information / check in.

Location was brilliant and was lovely to stay in a beautiful and authentic heritage home. The breakfast was delicious!

Wanted to be in Fontainhas for some time and Mateus fitted my requirements very well. Property is well curated and modified , retains old world charm with some quirkiness.. close to few interesting small bars.
