How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Prag view heritage homestay in Bhuj. Rajesh and his wife were lovely and very knowledgeable of Bhuj and its history. They were extremely helpful, gave very good travelling advise and were very welcoming. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The homestay location is perfect and the view to the Prag Mahal from the terrace are amazing. We recommend it 100%.

Verified reviewNicely decorated property with lots of character and absolutely lovely view from the roof top balcony. Rajesh goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and stress free - from ordering take-away meals, rickshaws etc. He provides a 5* service.
The shower facilities and hot water requires patience as it takes about 15 months to fill a bucket!

Verified reviewIt’s proximity to the Prag Mahal. But having said that vehicles do not reach the property’s doorstep. You have to walk through a narrow alley to reach the property.
We were misled by the photos about the property seen before booking. We didn’t know that no food is available at the property. You can order by Zomato. Difficult for a tourist who does not know the place to do. There wasn’t even a hot water kettle in the room which was essential in the winter. The washroom in our room had dirty tiles and a foul smell always.

Firstly, we’d like to clarify that a homestay experience is very different from that of a hotel. Homestays like ours offer a cultural, personalized touch and a warm, family-like atmosphere. Comparing the two is neither fair nor accurate, as each has its unique appeal. Our homestay is located just 15 steps from the main Darbargadh Chowk, making it one of the most conveniently situated accommodations for tourists in Bhuj. Outside Darbargadh Chowk, there is a big parking area for vehicles. However, during peak tourist seasons, it may become full at times, which is beyond our control. We also assure you that all the photos of our property are real and original. We take pride in showcasing the authentic beauty of our homestay and have never used any images that misrepresent or exaggerate the property. For further transparency, you can visit our Instagram page (@prag_view_heritage), where we regularly post videos and photos of our homestay to give potential guests a real sense of what to expect. Regarding your specific complaints: 1. Food Services: As a homestay, we do not operate a restaurant. However, we are always happy to help our guests by coordinating food orders or offering local recommendations. This is a part of the cultural experience we provide, and it’s always appreciated when guests communicate their needs. 2. Breakfast: While we provided you with breakfast during your stay, it was not paid for. We don’t usually raise such matters publicly, but given the nature of your review, it is important to highlight this for transparency. 3. Cab Arrangements: We arranged a cab for your sightseeing, and as is standard across the region, cab drivers charge for a minimum of 300 kilometers per day, regardless of actual usage. However, we understand that you argued with the driver and forced him to accept payment for just 80 kilometers, which is neither fair nor respectful to local service providers. We strive to offer a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all our guests. Cleanliness and guest satisfaction are our top priorities, as reflected by the consistent positive feedback we receive. We regret that your experience did not align with your expectations, but we kindly ask future guests to appreciate and respect the unique charm and offerings of a homestay. The bathroom in my room was a tight fit and the hot water didn’t always work. There aren’t any food options nearby so plan accordingly ahead of time.
