Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaRooms didn't have mesh doors so we couldn't have the windows or doors open which was a shame. Our rooms faced a corridor or back wall of the hotel which was very disappointing. Pricey!
The location and ambience is excellent. The old British rooms were charming. Food at the restaurant was by and large very good. Staff was very polite, helpful.

IndiaHaving said that, am glad our room was part of the annexe , and quiet if a little stuffy. The stay and food is definitely quite pricey.
What can you say about a heritage establishment that walks you down the charming side of a British past. From the quaint trimmings, heavy wooded interior, charming tea garden, quiet ministrations by the staff and the prompt service, not the least the finger-licking food - there is an absolute stamp of quality legacy and makes it a must-visit. The location in the higher reaches of Landour is breathtaking.

IndiaThe single room was far too small, as it was the last 2 rooms available- I had booked them on a holiday with my two sisters, hoping we could manage between the 3 rooms, but it was impossible, as there was no space for a second bed anywhere. I had to find alternate accommodation for myself and my two sisters stayed on in Rokeby Manor, where we met every day and shared meals. The staff were very kind to drop me back to my hotel Devdar Woods every night, which was also a lovely property thankfully very close to Rokeby.
Staff and food were both excellent. Loved the old world charm and the charming tea garden.

IndiaService charge of 10% levied on the meals - I saw this and didnt tip the servers, but apparently the model there is that the service charge goes to the back kitchen staff and one is expected to tip waiters etc as well. Sorry, I dont tip 15 or 20% of bill in total! Frankly value for money was not there. Also, we were in Rose Suite, ground floor under the Restaurant, and from 0600 daily footsteps easily heard coming thru the wooden floor upstairs. So this was definitely disturbing. Also late night till almost 12 midnite.
Fantastic location, in upper reaches of Landour. Staff were ok - not too friendly - much preferred the staff at Ramada. Great outside seating in the sun for residents. Good food

IndiaWell, the 'room' was quite tiny and since it led outdoors, whenever any staff came in, they stomped all over , with muddy boots, including on the small rug next to the bed. There was no mention of any apology or any clean up. A suggestion is that a small table be placed near the door so that dirty shoes don't come right up to the bed. Some other guests were playing loud Punjabi music in the open common area on their speaker, at night. When a request was made, the staff did go and ask them to turn down the music but with limited impact. For a property which prides itself on its quiet peaceful atmosphere, people shouldn't be allowed to play music in common areas on speakers. Sounds travels in the open in the hills. Of course, the indian-ness means that the request of a solo guest, doesn't matter as the comfort of a large group.
Quiet property. Quite clean. The on site restaurant is good.

IndiaProperty itself is good, well maintained. Clean and great food Please note that there is a steep road to get to the property because it sits on top of a hill. So please make sure you book a cab that is powerful enough to go up the windy road. We got a cab from airport which was not in great condition so a better option may be ask for transportation from the hotel.

IndiaI think the price is a little too steep for the room size- I got the single occupancy room at a steal, nearly 50% off; but I would be flabbergasted if I had to pay the full amount for that tiny room with a teeny small window! However, my overall experience was way better than a similarly priced stay in Mussourie. Also, the rooms open and look out into common areas- so privacy is a little compromised. Also, I would love an extra blanket in November, though I didn't really ask for it to be fair Travel arrangements and the restaurant are steeply priced, I could arrange for much cheaper cabs from mussourie
Loved the location, the feel of the place; a quaint warm stone cottage with open spaces and the coziest lounge and crackling fire! A beautiful outside area and swing 🩷 A beautiful dining area with scrumptious breakfast! Loved the personal touches- a welcome drink of hot chocolate the followed me to the top garden that I randomly went to check out, the chocolates kept at night turn over, the cutesy map in the room The staff is polite, friendly and ever ready to help The location is surely the best for Landour- walkable distance from char dukaan, lal tibba, landour bakehouse- the works! And oh, the breakfast had cinnamon rolls from Landour Bakehouse. 😃😎

AustraliaOur room. Room 1 opens off the entry lobby so exposed to all passing through the lobby. Above all its noisy from reception, restaurant directly above and cycle parking outside the window. Also hotel is crowded on holiday weekend with visitors to restaurant which was very busy during the day.
Location is heavenly, must be quietest place in India! That is other than on a religious holiday. Walking the immediate neighbourhood was superb. The garden and views are delightful. Staff were fabulous. So interested in your enjoyment and well bring. Restaurant crew especially Raju were great. Manager was always checking on us and arranging outings for us with their excellent driver. Restaurant was superb but I stuck to Indian cuisine. My wife had some disappointment with other Asian food being too spicy (but staff happily replaced).
