How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewThe rooms are clean and tidy and the views are also good.
The property is far away from the centre, so travelling becomes a nuisance. Don't order food from the stay, they will charge you heavily. Even a cup of coffee is around Rs 40

Rooms, at least the one we booked, was way too small. The bed was not at all comfortable. The approach to the stay at night may be tough.

Verified reviewThe stay is very nice, it has very good view of Selas valey, I took the room which has balcony which has spot on view, the hosts are very nice, they are helpful and understanding your requests. You can order food here at a reasonable price and the taste is amazing and feels like home food. You can feel connect with nature in this place, with good sels valley views having lush green tea plantations, listening to birds chirping while sipping coffee. The mornings and evenings are most enjoyable times. If you want to get away from traffic and crowds, this is the place. Selas Valley is very calm, you can listen peacocks, spot bisons eating grass in the valley. It is a very good place to retreat and enjoy. Must take the room which has balcony and enjoy the Selas valley view. Compared to ooty and coonor which is very busy this is a calm and laid back place where you can enjoy the nature.

"No view " you will not get all the rooms are with view it is not possible only some rooms only will have view. Next time before booking please call me directly sir we will tell you which room will have mountain view accordinlgy you can book. Dont feel bad will provide you nice room with view next time

Verified reviewCare taker Ram and supporting staff (Rajesh ?) were really helpful and they did whatever they could within their capacity. I felt sorry for them. Location is good but with pathetic rooms and without any basic amenities, it's of no value. at least uninterrupted wifi and TV cable connection are bare minimum one expects.
Only one room has valley view. The family room is literally a bunker which is absolutely useless and worthless. It has no air circulation. There was no wifi signal throughout my stay and I did communicate this to Ram but he was helpless. There is a TV in the room but no cable connection! Since wifi isn't working TV wasn't functional. So once you are inside room, there is absolutely no entertainment. Moreover, approach to the property is very difficult. Only very experienced drivers with cars with good pickup only will be able to manage.

Verified reviewThe location of the property is great for nature lovers as it is nestled among huge mountains filled with greenery. The view was amazing! The staff was also very polite and helpful.
The location is a bit far from bus stop so had to pay extra to the auto.

I know it is bit far from bus stop why I constructed here it was totally away from city , I want everyone should enjoy natural breeze and birds sound. If you go to ooty or coonoor it was totally poluted and also you will not able to here any birds sound and nature. This is the only reason I constructed there sir. We will also plan next time for a considerable cheaper cost to pick and drop

First thing I am explaining that surrounding area you mentioned not cleaned that is becasue of work going with another house becuase of that they kept all the material . This week entire work will be finish and look nice. Sorry and apolgies. Second point you mentioned break fast sorry for the inconveience caused to you sir now we implemented the breakfast menu around 6 categories are available you can choose accordingly. Third point you mentioned tea not provided by my staff please I am extremly apoligies for that . But I checked with the manager that you have takn tea . The homestay was below par with hot water not running continuously and basic tea/coffee facilities not available. The wifi was not working and the rooms were too small. Access to the property is also very difficult.
Sorry for the electrical what happen yesterday but one more thing also sir You have booked deluxe room which clearly mentioned 130 Sqft Area coverage for the room , As per given instruction from booking. com if alcohol is not allowed inside campus or room means its no . So you also have to ensure your mistake and please don't repeat in next stay or next place .
