I’m no longer convinced that booking.com is the best way to make a booking… Booking.com - failed to advise me that transfers were included in my booking and actually encouraged and managed to get me to book transfers with them at extra cost. - failed to advise that half the pool was closed due to renovation. Breakfast service was chaotic… you placed orders with the waiter and other customers went up to the counter and took your order… and you then had to reorder… definitely not the 5* experience I was expecting from the restaurant side of the resort. To be fair, the staff do their best, but the process is not effective at managing the customers and orders , leaving the staff to master the art of apologising… but amongst the chaos a light always shines and that is Frecho, if you can be seated in the area he is serving, make sure you do, as he will go above and beyond to bring calm to the chaos. When businesses have conferences at the hotel, you get a sense that the normal guests are secondary as the business guests get priority. Expect the bar to be closed for a ‘private’ event. The pool area was crowded and noisy as the business guests played team building games and the breakfast venue could not handle the volume of guests. I was surprised that conference attendees were NOT accommodated in one of the conference halls for breakfast to avoid disrupting the non business guests. The internet is a bit hit and miss… we never managed to connect our laptop and when we asked for help we were told it was being upgraded. Menu calorie counts are definitely not so accurate… I dream of finding a FULL pepperoni pizza that is only circa 500 calories…

I’m will start with the positives and then discuss the opportunities that would make this resort even better… On the plus side the SPA and massage service was superb… for a deep massage plus stretch ask for Bipin. The razor shaves are also very very close and both leave you refreshed and ready for another day….. Brilliant. The bar staff allow you to ‘save the bottle’ , so you can enjoy your wine over a few days…. But be prepared to pay 12 X the price for a bottle compared to UK prices. The laundry service is the best I’ve ever experienced in a hotel… they turned around 20 items in a matter of hours as ‘normal service’… outstanding. To be honest, housekeeping are simply superb, they make the room regularly and ensure everything is spotless… loved it. Water bottles are plentiful, although they did appear to run out of the glass bottles and resorted to plastic bottles.

We were given a room right next to the construction site where the work went on at any and every time . We had to make multiple complaints and requests to have some quiet during the night after 8 pm.

I noticed that the restaurant staff seemed quite stressed during my visit, One of the staff members, who was unwell and frequently coughing while serving, mentioned that her leave request had been rejected. This raises the concerns about staff welfare and overall hygiene. Also there was no proper briefing about the property. Interestingly when I raised this concern on the last day, the team offered me property tour which I declined, They aso invited me for high tea, I don't particularly appreciate these kind of "make -up" gestures. I had originally booked a sea view apartment , but later received a call from the team offering an upgrade to a plunge pool room at an additional cost. Given the heavy rains in Goa during my stay. this turned out to be a unnecessary and felt like an upsell that did not add value to my experience. Overall, while I had certain expectation from Taj property given its reputation for exemplary hospitality, I found the services at Taj Exotica lacking the warmth and attentiveness that I associate with the brand. I believe there is scope for improvement in customers service to ensure that guest truly experience the exceptional standards Taj is Known For

The only one if I have to pick would be the quality of cycles could be better and if an adult cycle with child cot could be added to the fleet there.

Everything, cleanliness, vastness and the upkeep. The location itself is amazing as well. The fact that it’s vastly covered with greens made it the best choice for us, coming from the Middle East. The weather (monsoons) was a cherry on top as it brought out the beauty even more vividly. Apart from the property, entire staff made it extremely special for us, especially the Taj Kids’ and the SDP teams. Narmin, Pallabi, Sonali, Scully and Malvica didn’t leave a stone unturned to keep the kids engaged in a very playful and learning manner at the Taj kids everyday. They looked forward to going there immediately after the breakfast. The activities organized during for the adults as well were so engaging that we never felt the need to go out and explore more parts of the city. Antakshari organized at our last evening by Narmin Ma’am, was one of the best activities, followed by the fire act and the illusionist show by Edmundo. Anisha, Kimberly, Rashmit, Fecho, Ram, Rohan, Raviraj, Ankita, Ambika and the entire team (I might have missed a few names) of SDP including the amazing chefs took fabulous care during all three meals for us, and spoiling the kids with their love and unlimited watermelon juice and pancakes :) the sweet surprise on our last breakfast left us emotional. Even the outdoor activities staff (swimming and cycling activities) and the housekeeping carried that genuine smile and care constant like all the other teams we interacted on a daily basis.

Main Swimming pool had some renovation going on in kids area. Some room furniture like doors needs renovations. Specially the Villa facing rooms.

The staff was very helpful and made our trip amazing. Want to mention Siddharth property manager, Cora, Vincy Operations Manger, all Chefs were very good and accommodated our individual food requests. Room with adjoining pool is a specialty and was a hit with Kids. Property has nice evening programs in the main lobby area that was good. We could cycle around the property and could do water games on the beach. Room service was prompt and very good.
