How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Verified reviewProperty inside is good with decent sized rooms , nice pool, good WiFi coverage and that’s it. It’s a basic home stay with no kitchen facility.
There is no kitchen, hence, breakfast is bought from outside on per person basis , so choice and quantity is limited and breakfast is served at room temperature as there is no heating facility. Location is near beach but surroundings are fisher’s hut and relatively dirty. Access road is very narrow and you need to follow different route ( ask facility owner) than what is shown on google map, else you may get stuck. There is only one car parking with in the premise. Rooms are relatively clean but lizards can be found in rest room. There is nothing near this place, you need to drive a km to main road to buy anything.

That's also the reason our breakfast timings are restricted and we love to serve fresh food. we can't guarantee the freshness beyond the specified timings, however we take it into account and try to serve hot Breakfast. Even in the description it says clearly that the property is in the fishing hamlet, and everyone of us knows how it will be maintained and we can't take accountability for outside the property. Sorry for the inconvenience that the lizard found in the restroom, we always chase them up naturally rather than poison them, that might be the reason you might have seen it. The property is near the beach, so for the shops unfortunately you have to go to the main street, however it's not 1Km, for the guests convenience we have in-house staff to help them in shopping and courier.

Hello, If you have never visited then you are not entitled to give a review, we have told very clearly to call once you reach the main road, which you haven't done. so many people came to our property and without any issues, only you could not, it's really bad about your navigation skill. Don't review for the sake of review, do an honest review, please grow up.

Verified reviewBeautiful pool and maintained garden. The owners are very friendly and we will definitely visit again.
It's not the fault of the owners but power fluctuation is a big issue in pondicherry. Especially at night the power went several times. Through there's power backup but the ACs won't run without the main supply. So if you are in the location keep power fluctuations in mind which is not the fault of the owner but the town. However it can be painful in summer if you are used to AC. .

The Tuk Tuk drivers coming back from town always had problems finding it. Thank God for Google Maps or get an address card before you venture out.

Verified reviewStaff were so helpful providing everything we needed. They ordered us food and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. We hoped around the whole villa due to availability so experienced many of the rooms and all were great. It’s a beautiful oasis.

The location is too difficult to approach. The place is surrounded by fishermen folk. Felt very unsafe and insecure. The response of the property where there was a negative is very rude and not with proper decorum. The curtains in the room are not properly closing. So privacy is a big question.

The more funny is that, after you read my reply now you have added about curtains, ...but good try...however let me check about the curtains. Thanks for your review, I would like to give clarification on the negative points you have mentioned, this will help others to make their choice correctly. 1. Difficult to approach - There is a temple construction work going on round the corner which makes it difficult that you might have witnessed, but the house keeping boy came along with you to show the way ( which makes you comfortable), again we have told very clearly over the phone about the location. 2. Fishing folk - The property is near the sea and has sea view, which means the property should be in the fishing village, and as everyone we know the fishing village will have fisherman, nets, boats... again this was told over the phone the property is located in the fishing village, and your reply was ' I have a background of village ' which means you accept the fact how the village will look like. 3. Not safe - This is a funny comment, what makes you not feeling safe?? Pickpocket, blocked the car, asked money by anyone in the street, does your car got damaged? while commenting on a public forum make sure say the things correctly, which will help others to decide on my property. My property is not your staying style but it doesn't mean you can throw such comments and give random score. please go thru other comments. But I appreciate the fact you gave 10 for the staff. Thanks

Verified reviewIt's set in a small fishing village, 5 mins walk from the main road and 5 mins from Serenity Beach. Walking through the village was great to see local life away from a busy main road. The owners are great, helped us with bus tickets to our next stop. The breakfast, delivered to our room, was a local selection that we loved. The swimming pool was a welcome respite from the heat. We recommend it.

Verified reviewI am not staying. because A.C is not functioning.As a place it is waste. I never seen any properties like this. There is no road to go sea. It is fishermen area & waste.

TO BOOKING.COM - they were not YOUNG COUPLE, ages around 55+.. Sorry for your inconvenience, the AC was not working due to power shortage ( low voltage) not because of maintenance. We have told very clearly it is a fishing village and nowhere we are told that there is direct access to the beach (only private beach will have such access) we are renting the property not the outside area. It's so wierd you say that you never see such a property, whereas we have such good reviews. I am really sorry you haven't liked the place but unfortunately it looks like it is not the property which you like. Sorry again have a good day.

Verified reviewThe property is exactly as described in booking. It's a spacious villa with a great yard and palms, lots of plants. The rooms are simple but calming and comfortable. It was quite clean and even though the bathroom is not fancy, we liked it a lot. The staff was very punctual, welcoming and helpful. Our driver also liked their driver rooms . It was quiet and pleasant. It's a value offer, so keep that in mind - the location of the villa is in a neighborhood which might alarm some people, but the villa itself is quite safe and peaceful. We asked for fruit for breakfast and they served us plenty of it with a smile.

Verified reviewThe ambience is blissful. It's right opposite the serenity beach but feels like a private beach. The property is maintained well , and the pool is clean. Very friendly staff and had a good experience.
The location is a little inside , 20min from the city center. If a beach stay Is not your priority, then it's not recommended to stay here as it takes atleast 15min to ride to any place from Here. Otherwise, everything is wonderful.
