Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsA very nice, helpful and friendly host. Location was quiet as I wanted, so a big plus for that. Location is close to the city center but some how not in a crowded area.

United States of AmericaRoom was very small and cramped(maybe real estate in the city is expensive). Storage could not be accessed. There was no mention of stairs while booking which was a drudgery with a sprained ankle. Breakfast was disappointing. Cereal was absent the second day and seemed like yesterday's leftover's were at the table the next day.
Owners were a nice couple. They never got in your way but were always there if you needed help or information. Very kind and helpful. Seemed like the only home amidst a jungle of apartments. Place needs sprucing and seems like they are on it.

GermanyOnly one thing to improve: my window was broken on one side, so didnt fully close , thats why i had to put the curtains into the open space so I wouldnt get the wind into my face at night :) Room was still warm though!
I stayed in Alba Guesthouse for 4 nights and can recommend it. You will not get a luxury room/house, but you will get a very good price, lovely breakfast with fresh Pancakes and homemade bread, a place close to Downtown and a friendly woman-host. There is a coffee/tea station and a fridge for everyone to use, the place is clean, bed is comfortable and rooms have everything you need for a few days stay.

FinlandThe space of the room, its cramped, kind of noisy with traffic, use earplugs if ur a lightsleeper. You have ur own sink and a small wardrobe, small bed 1.60m by 2m for 2 people Walls are thin so u hear everything (again, better use earplugs). Its basicly just a place to sleep and u are mostly very tired of the full day activities, so that helps a lot to sleep through all noises.
The location was perfect as the "bus terminal" is really close by like 5 mins walk or less and that's the common pickup point for most activities, so that really helps a lot and saves money with taxi's etc. The breakfast was good, nice fresh bread, good coffeemachine, fruit, cookies and water as well. That we could walk in the guesthouse whenever we wanted, the key of your room is a masterkey so you can open the front door as well.

GermanyThere are two bathrooms, which is nice, but sadly only one toilet as far as we saw. For sharing with approx. 6 rooms you might find the door locked quite often.
My friend and I booked a room in Alba Guesthouse for 2 nights. The room was nice and clean, the host is very friendly. The breakfast was also good! There is space outside to park your car. For our short stay it was great, would definitely recommend.

United KingdomThe difficulty is that guests may not realise that this is somewhere in between a hostel and bnb, a guesthouse. It is someone's house, so there is an exception of the property and rules to be respected. The owner may come across quite strict in holding those boundaries, but he can meet in the middle when he feels the guests are respecting his home, himself and his rules. We worried we would upset him too but he ended up enjoying our company and helped us. Be mindful that it is someone's home and you'll have a great time.
This guesthouse has a very homey, community, vibe. The breakfast was simple but delicious, and abundant in such that there was a variety of healthy options. Boiled eggs, selection of cheese and meats, cereals, delicious homemade pancakes with syrup and spreads (hazelnut one better than Nutella!). The surroundings were fairly clean and acceptable and they were somewhat accommodating. The beds were comfortable and warm. My friends and I loved our stay here and would stay again.

RomaniaWe had a 4 year old kid and room only had 2 blankets. We asked the owner if he can provide one more and he said because kids stay free therefore he can't help with another blanket because of the cost of washing it afterwards. What??? If he stays free this doesn't mean he shouldn't benefit of the facilities we paid for. We've been in over 60 countries and never ever heard such thing. Also after this Guesthouse we stayed in 4 more in Iceland and this didn't happen. Finally the next day he provided us with a blanket and told us we should be grateful now. Unbelievable behavior and a quite cold person. Luckily this was the only stay in Iceland we had issues.
Nice breakfast, room and toilet ok for the money.
