Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe room was OK. It was not what I thought was advertised. I was planning on a room with a washer and dryer and we were switched to a "newer" room on the ground floor that was supposedly newly refurbished. The room was not quite what I envisioned for our stay and was rather "stuffy" as very limited ventilation was available. I also could not use a washer/dryer as it did not have one. Overall, I don't know if I would stay in this place again as I do not know if all the rooms have the same amenities as advertised.
Excellent location in downtown. Very nice, friendly staff. Great value for the money and location. It is literally within walking distance to all of Reykjavik's main sites and easy drop-off and pick-up for tours that start in the city.

United KingdomThe apartments were very central and also cosy and warm. They had all the facilities we needed to have an enjoyable stay and prepare our own food. The bathroom had a great shower and the shampoo and shower gel were lush, so much that we had to buy our own at the airport on the way home. The staff at the nearby hotel where we had to check in were lovely and friendly and were helpful to all our questions we had. Overall a great stay in a lovely city.

United KingdomNo decaffeinated coffee, no view from the room, but did have a little patio area. The bathroom had a step, which when half asleep you forget it's there.
The staff were very helpful 🙂 Nothing was any trouble, and breakfast had an array of things to eat.

United States of AmericaCheck-in and check-out was in a hotel 2 blocks away from the actual apartment, which was slightly confusing in the beginning.
The apartment is modern and spacious, with clean facilities and an aesthetically pleasing interior. It is also conveniently located close to all major sightseeing, entertainment and nightlife spots in Reykjavik, making it a perfect stay for exploring the city on foot.

IcelandWe stayed in 1206 and it’s a bit of a labyrinth to locate your room (but there is plenty of signage to guide you) but when you do find it, it’s worth it and happy days.
The location and facilities are fantastic, but also the modern renovation to this hotel and its studio apartments is really well done. The lighting of the studio apartments is well designed and good for weary traveler’s who just want to relax and enjoy a little luxury.

RomaniaOur apartment had a door connecting to another apartment and we keep hearing noises from the other room (as probably other guests were there). Wasn't that bothering, but wasn't pleasant also.
Large spaces, clean, well equipped, 2 bathrooms, great location, they have their own parking space (only 2 but still). Location is great, right in city center.

United KingdomBeing so close to the bars, it occasionally got a bit loud (we were there on a Saturday night), although it's not on the main strip so wasn't too bad.
Nicely designed and spacious apartment in the heart of Reykjavík, right by the main bar area and near the church and the famous Braud & Co bakery! Easy check in at the nearby Hotel Odinsvé, where the staff were very helpful (and that looked like a lovely place to stay too).

United States of AmericaThe room was not ready at 3pm. It took an extra 20 minutes or so, which normally would not have been a problem except that we had not slept on the flight the night before and were ready to get in our room.
The layout was great. Each couple had their own private room and a nice common area.
