The place looks tired: the furniture has broken covers, the kitchen surface has holes, the bed creaks, the paint is peeling, the front door doesn't open properly, it hits the floor, and the shower mount is about to fall off. We had to tighten the screw in the teapot and the saucepan, otherwise they would have fallen apart. I don't understand how this can create a cozy atmosphere? And when entering and leaving you have to break your fingers, pulling the target out of a ring with a narrow hole - I thought we wouldn't be able to open the gate. The owner answers in Icelandic when communicating, although I wrote in English.

fire extinguisher out of date, and had no pressure, not good in a place like this in case of a fire, smoke alarm tester button broken… frying pan dirty and dirty glasses, probably from former users… hot tub not hot enough, but it was wery cold outside😊

We did not found the second bed ready, staff promptly answered the phone call and told us where to find sheets and blankets. Most part of cleaning duties in charge of guests, same experience we had with other cottages managed by agencies. If former guest leaves the kitchen dirty, you will find it dirty. Not acceptable. It is not worth the cost. Never happened where the host is the owner

it was very quiet and peaceful. it was nice waking up to fresh air and seeing horses and sheep just living their good lives. it was very cozy and welcoming, just what we needed.

The hot tub was unusable - the water couldnt be heated and was unclean. The front door needs adjustment too!

Host was very accomodating after bad weather moved in and we required an early check in time at short notice. We got stuck on the track up to the house and they rescued us with a tractor. Very comfy sofa and netflix. Such a cosy feel to the place. Perfect place to hold up when a big storm is raging outside! Feels very private.

Towels were quite old and a bit torn up, could be changed for newer ones.

Cottage in the middle of nowhere, nice connection to nature all around, peace and quiet (apart from the elements, mainly wind). Extremely good views and good chances to see the northern lights when the sky is clear! Well equipped, quite clean but a bit older in terms of furniture. Very nicely decorated though, cozy and very warm inside. Hot tubs are the icing on the cake! Perfect getaway from touristy locations on iceland.

Someone took our cabin, and we had to stay at a shared hostel like place, (which wasnt what we wanted) we arrived very late, but they answered the phone and took care of the situation (changed our private cabin for a shared room in the other place) which was pretty much enough to spend the night... We can't say anything about this location other than if someone mistakes their cabin for yours, you pretty much have to switch places (or not have any issues arriving at normal hours like we did)

We got into trouble. In the evening, a few minutes before our arrival, we were told that the water in the house was frozen because it was very cold at night. We were offered another house, which was also unprepared, we waited for the snow to be cleared, although it took a whole day after it fell. Of course, there was no question of any hot tub and barbecue accessories, for which we booked this house. Of course, we no longer had the time and energy to find another place to live. The most expensive and most unsuccessful booking on our entire trip to Iceland.

The owners tried to help solve the problem, so I don't want to give a rating of 1

We booked a private cabin and thought there would be a private bathroom within the cabin. However, the owner did not specify anything about the bathroom situation, and turned out we have to go to the main guesthouse for showering. We wanted the private cabin for more privacy, but what kind of private cabin doesn’t have its own shower? Should’ve clarified more about the property’s info.

I booked this cottage as everything in this area had been already taken. Comments on the cottage was good even encouraging. Now I know that "retro, like grandma's place" means worn out, old cottage that requires immediate renovation. The fridge, the kettle, the hob was very old, plates were all from different sets and age, cutlery didn't match. If you are tall or massive person it is almost impossible to seat on a toilet as you have to squeeze yourself in between a wall and a shower cabin. in the morning we woke up of a very annoying fly buzz. Flies were everywhere. We left the place without taking show and breakfast. It would be ok if the price was below 100 EUR. but we paid 260 EUR per night. Compare to other cottages that had similar price range this one doesn't worth its money at all.

The only thing to note was that the bathroom was tiny.

The property is in the middle of this great expanse. It’s private and all you can see are fields in all directions. The cottage itself is cosy and full of interesting pieces. everything you need for a warm and comfy stay.
