Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IcelandThere was nothing that bothered me. Some people might be bothered by the distance from downtown Akureyri, it is not within a walking distance from any resturant or store.
Hótel Hálönd is located up in the hills overlooking Akureyri. The view is amazing. The hotel has no lobby. We got an access code sent, to open the room. During our stay we never met anyone from the hotel, but had we needed to there were means to, via phone or email. The hallways are clean and modern looking. The room was spacious and very clean. It had a balcony overlooking Akureyri. During the ski season this is the best place to stay. Breakfast can be bought (we didn't). There are hot tubs for guests to use, nice all year round, but must be great after a day of skiing.

The room was specious and being able to park our car right in front our room was so nice to carry our stuff in side. There’s a common kitchen with microwave, kettle and fridge, no stoves. We didn’t use it but there is also washer dryer in the building.

LithuaniaEverything was good.
By far the best hotel we stayed in Iceland! Room was modern, clean and comfortable. In the room you can find cups, glasses, wine glasses, bottle opener, coffee machine with capsules. The view from the hotel is breathtaking. There is laundry room ad. kitchen that you can use. In the kitchen there is kettle, microwave and toaster, in a frigde you can find some food that other people have left. Easy check in.

Romaniai cannot complain of anything. maybe the only thing i could say -and it has nothing to do with this hotel- is that you need a car to reach the location or to go to the town, because it is close to the ski slope of the town so it is at the outskirts of it.
i loved the cleaness i think this is one of the very few hotels where all was really clean. also for breakfast, you have to make a breakfast request one day before but we chose not to have brakfast to the facility. although, in the morning i drank my coffee to the breakfast room and i can say they were having a rustic but generous swedish type of breakfast. they had boiled eggs, 2-3 types of meat, cheese, butter, nutella, confiture, fruits, 3 different kinds of cakes, milk, oat milk, almondmilk. so it was ok from what i could see.

IcelandMany flies around in the room and in kitchen, “home smell” : supposed to be a good home smell but I hate such smell. The kitchen is nice but would be great to have some utilities in it, glass, bread knife etc.

Switzerland-
Self check in, easy communication with host, very modern hotel room with a balcony, view from balcony to the city and sea - very pretty, it is quiet in the room and also in the hotel area, possesses a whirlpool if needed, has a fridge, free coffee and a couch, dining table as well as a small desk, curtains which makes the room dark during sleep, the room has a safe, only 10 min drive by car to the next supermarket - I would come back if needed :)

IcelandThe bathroom smelled musty. The pillows on the bed were awful, they were completely flat, there were however other pillows provided but we didn’t notice them until we were packing up to leave.
It was clean and modern. The self check in was nice. The bed was comfortable.

United StatesThe only issue we encountered was with the shower drain — it didn’t work very well, so water would spill over and start to flow into the bedroom area. Other than that, everything was great and we enjoyed our time there.
The place was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

PortugalCleanliness could be improved as the floor was a little dirty. There was not a single member of staff in the entire accommodation.
Spacious room with enough chairs, sofa, desk, wardrobe, and small coffee/tea station. Spacious bathroom. Good access to the room from the parking lot. Comfortable beds and pillows. Good TV.
