A bit pricey for a Sunday night

Stayed here on the last night of our trip due to its proxmitiy to the airport and blue lagoon. The room was spotless and was a great layout for a couple and our 8 year old son. The jacuzzi style bath was great too. We did not get to eat here but the food looked lovely.

The outdoor jacuzzi wasn't working, so we had to figure out how to make it work ourselves - eventually we figured out how to fill it up, but the button panel wasn't working at all. The hotel should consider hiring housekeeping staff for the holiday period as well. We got the jacuzzi through a free upgrade though, so we couldn't complain. Don't be fooled by the name of the hotel. It's a 10-minute taxi ride (~30 Euro) from Keflavik Airport.

We received a free upgrade to a diamond suite, and our night shift manager was very kind. Check in and out was fast and efficient. Breakfast was a real bonanza. The room itself was luxurious and high tech, with all sorts of light controls and different settings for the shower and bath.

The rooms are set up strangely. We have to walk outside from the reception area to get to our room. OR you had to climb up and down stairs to stay on the first floor. While walking past the interior rooms, I was hopeful because they were opulent with black and gold carvings. But as soon a we stepped into the other section of the hotel, it wasn't as beautiful. We had a small bit of graffiti on the wall over the bed and with the windows faced the back of the hotel and alley.

This is rated one of the higher-end hotels near the airport. The dining area is beautiful and the staff is accommodating.

Hotel (lounge, restaurant) was very nice. Our room was on a "wing" which we had to exit building (bar, restaurant, front desk) to access. Room was small. Pricey (maybe even high for Iceland).

Beware of the very small rooms of the 1st floor, facing a parking and in the noise of compressors from the kitchens. Furnitures in the suite prevents you from moving as there are tables and chairs of a strange taste everywhere. Too much is too much. A sofa + 2 armchairs for 2 persons ? 4 little tables ? what for ? And the decoration of the hall...

Hotel is ok, not too far from te airport (10mn by car), but far fromeverything else. We had a suite so size was ok. B&O TV was superb. Restaurant was nice too, except we had to wait a long time for having already cold plates.

A bit unprofessional! The phone in the room did not work. There was no information about breakfast times or any other activity. There was no Room service menu in the room. As the phone did not work, the receptionist told us that we needed to go to the restaurant to order room service. Not 5-star service!!!

The room was small, the shower was a pod. The room thermostat did not work.

The breakfast had a great selection. The location was very walkable.

Breakfast buffet was only okay. The gluten free bread was served poorly and couldn't be eaten. The SPA/gym is closed which I didn't notice until after I'd booked, my fault but still a shame. No instructions on how to use the safe had to get a member of staff to show me.

The decor is very nice, staff were friendly and helpful.

Limited storage for luggage if a family stays, but fine for a short stay

We only stayed for about 10 hours, the night before an early flight. The room is a bit small for 3 people (two single beds and a sofa bed), but the beds were very comfortable, luxury toiletries provided, fluffy towels- and the water did not smell of sulphur as in our previous apartment. The restaurant and bar were full on a Saturday night, very nice atmosphere. Quick check in and check out. Nice Italian and other restaurants in walking distance (under 1 kilometer) if you want to eat out an not in the hotel restaurant. Bar stays open late, free parking, great to catch an early flight as only 5-10 mins drive to airport.

very expensive short taxi ride to and from the airport so you need to add at least £50 to the cost of the stay - should be a shuttle bus for so many hotels close together.

There was construction going on but obviously that is necessary for growth and staying current.

The staff was excellent. The woman at the front desk exceptional. Bartender who made our drinks and served us was excellent as well. Loved the decor. Had a great stay and will definitely stay again next time we're in Iceland.
