Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe room can get a bit of traffic noise in the morning if you don't have a harbour facing room but nothing that would disturb you too much. The view is better over looking the harbour though.
Great location for the harbour to catch the early morning whale watching trips. Some nice restaurants around the harbour area which is a two minute walk and only a further 10 minutes into the town for shops bars and more restaurant choices. The hotel bar is nice for an evening drink, dinner or lunch. Breakfast is the usual hotel buffet but tasty and adequate.

United KingdomThe rooms are a bit small, and soundproofing could be improved in some areas. Plus the cost of breakfast and dining, typical of Iceland, might be on the higher side for some visitors
The hotel was great and had a perfect location. The breakfast was continental and very nice. Good proximity to Reykjavik's harbor and downtown area which offers easy access to restaurants, shops, and cultural sites.

United KingdomThe room was very hot & I think due to room type we were unable to open the window (it said for emergencies only - but understandable as it opened up onto street so anyone could’ve climbed in to the room). The heat was a struggle. The hotel is a bit further away from central Reykjavik than we would’ve liked so it was a bit more difficult to find nearby places for dinner which were suitable for everyone in our group (including a vegetarian).
The property was in a good location, right next to one of the main bus stops for tours, a few minutes walk. The hotel communal areas were beautiful, they seemed to have lots of extra communal rooms too for meetings or parties. A restaurant was attached too which was helpful. The employees were really helpful & kind which was great. Nice L’occitane toiletries. I’m truly not sure what the reviews are about that say it looks not very nice from the outside. I think it looks great, and inside the lobby etc was even more beautiful!

CanadaIceland is just so expensive, we really couldn't afford to stay for any longer and shared meals most days. Even the breakfast in the hotel was the equivalent of $40CAD per person. It would have helped us out if we could have eaten a cheaper breakfast each day.
Loved the quirky interior decor and the proximity to the harbour, lots of eateries and sights. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the bar next door was great for cocktails and light meals. We also loved Rost - their breakfast was exceptional.

ChileBreakfast could have had more variety but still was very good.
The property is perfectly located. Although it is located in the city center, it is also in front of the Reykjavik bay, which is a great spot. The building is beautifully decorated and feels very warm and comfortable. Rooms are very nice as well. Staff is very helpful and nice.

United KingdomRoom cleanliness was 98% of the way there, but there was some dust under the bed and on the light cord, and a hat that had been lost by a previous customer covered in some dust down the side of one of the cabinets. I wouldn't let this put me off though, overall it was fantastic
Breakfast was fine, but very expensive if its not included (9000isk for 2 people). The rooms was nice, and they have a scheme where if you skip room cleaning you can get vouchers to spend at the bar (1000isk per day skipped but can't be used for breakfast) Location is very good, close to the marina with good parking nearby and close to various boat tour companies, restaurants and activities (lava show is a 10 minute walk) Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again

United KingdomOur bathroom was quite small, and it's a wet room style so the shower water did tend to spill out. However, this was a very minor issue and it was clean with nice hot water, so it didn't really impact our stay.
This is a lovely hotel - it is huge, with a library, bar and restaurant, and it's got a nice friendly energy about it. The staff were cheery and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the facilities were good. The location is great, as it's only a five minute walk to the Harpa and to an area with lots of bars and restaurants. There is a big, free car park next to it, so parking is not an issue. It is also within walking distance of the lava show, which is good fun.
