Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The best B&B of our stay in Iceland: they have everything you need, the building is clean and tidy, and the rooms are worthy of a hotel, even though it’s not a very large property. The outdoor sauna and hot tub are an incredible addition to an already magnificent place. Congratulations!

This is a very minor thing, and possibly not necessary to mention but the beds were very firm. But like I said, very minor. This place was very nice & I would recommend.
Easy check-in & out. Guesthouse was clean, & cozy. Really enjoyed the guest book with suggestions for food & activities. We visited Secret Lagoon prior to our arrival so did not use the sauna or soaking tubs. The hosts were kind & provided a very nice breakfast spread.

I have only seen a chicken so far, need to wonder around to see the 11 sheeps and the horses
Super clean, very quite, smooth and fast check-in. Great booklet on how to do the Golden Circle Tour. Family owned. Highly recommend a stay here.

shower floor is slippery, will have puddle of water after you shower since shower floors are not angled to drain properly but good hot shower and good water pressure, electrical outlets don't have a tight fit that plugs had to be held up with my shoe
Super clean rooms and dining area. Wonderful scrumptious breakfast options- skyr, delicious waffles, fresh bread, tasty deli meat, cheese, and tomatoes (which taste like real tomatoes instead of the bland, mushy American ones). Nice sauna. Soaking in their cozy jacuzzi while enjoying the view of the farm fields and the stillness of Selfoss. Great and very kind hosts! Convenient location to restaurants and nearby tourist spots. Rooms are well insulated that I didn't even hear my talkative 9 yr old niece and 11 yr old nephew, who were in adjacent rooms.

The hotel is simple, nothing exclusive. We found it expensive for what it offers
Good hotel, with a tasty breakfast and plenty of yogurt options. Perfect for one or two nights. There is no heating in the rooms, but since it wasn’t too cold, we didn’t feel uncomfortable.

Friendly hosts and a quiet, peaceful setting. Breakfast was lovely, with homemade rhubarb jam and fresh waffles, lots of fresh fruit, and a varied offering of skyr and yogurt.

This is a fantastic place. Clean, friendly, close to everything. The breakfast was great and the dining place very charming. The young receptionist Julian was an amazing host who also gave us excellent travel tips. We very much recomend this place.

Hot tub water temperature was not warm enough. A better equipped kitchenette ( with sink) would be helpful as no restaurants easily within walking distance.

Booked a room with 3 beds but one was actually a rollaway bed. Would be nice to have breakfast starting at 7:00 or 7:30 vs 8:00am.
Location just outside of Selfoss is good for the start of our drive down the south coast.
