Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Presence of staff in hotel would be better instead of texting or emailing for any issues.
Location was the best thing about the place. It was also quiet despite being near to all downtown attractions.

I was on the first floor and in the morning you could hear the sound of cars passing by.
The room was very nice, comfortable and I liked that it had a small kitchen. I loved that it was right there in downtown and that if you walked one minute you could see beautiful Mount Esja. Also, that you didn't need a key to enter, but a code, was great. I would definitely stay here again.

No parking…listing said parking available…didn’t realize that meant very limited street parking in a city I wasn’t familiar with. Guest info book gave good explanation on street parking though which was very helpful.

There were some things that were not upkept properly, e.g. kitchen sink in the first apartment was not fixed properly. Chairs have lost some screws that noone replaced. Isolation was poor but we were not cold due to good heating (we stayed there in April). All in all very comfortable stay.
We stayed twice with Swan House, in different apartments. Both were large and spacious, nice design and all that is needed was there. Very easy check in. Location is very nice and near P3 area in Reykjavik where parking is not very expensive.

The only time I ever met someone from the establishment was when I accidentally locked myself in the balcony of the room. I'm not used to everything being automated and it would have been nice to have at least met one of the people that run the place.
The location was perfect, in the heart of Reykjavik. The codes for the outside door and the room's door can easily be mixed up if someone doesn't take their time to read the instructions. Room was clean, hot and quiet. Bed was comfy and the linens smelled freshness.

Bit confusing with two entrances. The building is on a corner with entrances on two different streets.
A little confusing finding our room. There are two entrances on two different streets. We couldn’t see how to get to our room from the first entrance we tried. Walked around the building and were able to easily find our room and enter with our code. Everything was smooth after that. The shower was lovely after our long flight and day of exploring. Great wifi and good size tv.

Our room was in the basement and we had to carry the luggages as there was no lift. The room was quite small for 4 persons.
Its very central located. The staff responded fast in our messages.

The location of this property was great to go to town and close to bus stop. Check in and out were quick and smart without face to face. I will stay here for the next trip as well.

I was hoping that they have a microwave besides the hob.
This apartment is really close to the beach, bus stops and all the shopping area and restaurants. I like that this place is really clean.

Short advice to future guests :tourists in the street outside the building are noisy so you better keep your windows closed if you are used to sleeping in total silence. Double windows keep any sound out of the room
