“We loved our stay at Masseria Xireni. It was a breath of fresh air to stay in the countryside with such a beautiful view overlooking the mountains.
We went to get a few groceries and dinner from the nearby town of Castellana Sicula and ended up having a wonderful time in the piazza with the locals enjoying an aperitovo.
The hosts, although they spoke little English, did their absolute best to communicate and served up breakfasts with a great assortment. Silvia, their daughter, was a fem in translating for us.
We decided to order dinner for our second night and were not disappointed. The 4 course meal, with wine, was delicious and full of all the freshly picked or local produce. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious, refurbished beautifully in the theme of the farmhouse. The pool was a bonus on the hot afternoons.
