Matress on beds was too soft for me, but that is a subjective opinion..

Beautiful landscape, short distance from Florence, big and clean swimming pool, very lovely and helpful staff.

    We couldn’t stay longer.

We were surprised that dinner in their restaurant was an option. Well, the dinner turned out to be a highlight of our entire 3 week stay in Italy. The owners were so very friendly and gracious.

Can´t think of anything we didn´t like except the very rude Dutch visitors.

EVERYTHING about this wonderful place exceeding our expectations. I even think we had the best apartment. The view? Beautiful silver fields of gold. Olive trees. The apartment had everything we needed especially because I love to cook breakfast and eat on a lovely veranda surrounded by flora and a view of the valley. The best part were the two owners. Husband and wife. My husband is a lover of good wine and they did have their own house Chianti. The lady of the house was charming and had really nice conversations with us also letting us in about the American cemetery down the road which we visited. But the biggest surprise was when we decided to eat at the property. I have never in my life seen such huge steaks. The four course meal was better than any Italian restaurant we´ve visited in Italy and this is no lie. Overall, I wish we were staying longer. This was a piece of heaven on earth in Italy. Btw we did take a few of their wines home. I Poggi

    everything was great.

Lovely couple. Great experience. Easy check in and check out. Home cooked dinner was offered and was amazingly good. Best steak I’ve had in a while. Buildings are older but extremely well kept. This was the perfect place for me and my family to get some nice rest in between a busy vacation schedule. Highly recommended.

The pictures are not reflective of what the accommodation actually is. There were also extra fees not mentioned at the time of booking. Compared to other bookings, this was very basic and did not offer much to make you want to stay in the room (example: there is a kitchen with pots/pans, fridge, but no salt, oil, sugar). While I understand that they do not have to, it's a nicety since why would I go buy a big bag of these items for a 3 day stay.

The staff was great and accommodating to our requests to make the stay better. The barn was cozy and well furnished for our trip. Location was perfect to quickly be in the city center but far away enough to have the Tuscany experience.

Wifi doesnt work at all and the host really didn’t do anything about it. He is old and I understand that he is not really tech savvy.. but as I am reading other reviews on google I noticed that some people had issues with wifi and it seems like it hasn’t been fixed. If your place doesn’t have proper wifi you should not advertise it. Kitchen items such as nonstick pans and pots seem old and scratched. And there are a bit of spiderwebs and tiny spiders (which I didn’t mind as it is totally normal for a house in countryside).

Perfect location that is not too far away from the city. It is very nice and quiet. Only takes 20 min to get to Piazzale Michelangelo parking lot, which you can just walk to get into the city or take a bus. And the place was clean :)

We would recommend coming by car - it is possible to arrive and get around by bus (and take day trips into Florence - about 40 minutes by bus) but the buses are not very frequent.

Giulio and his wife were incredibly accomodating - helping us get the the house (as we didn’t have a car), providing delicious meals and giving us great advise on the area. The property is conveniently just outside of Florence, but is very quiet and rural in its feel. There are wonderful views of Florence from just opposite the house, and the house is surrounded by olive trees! The pool is also beautiful and very well kept. A 5 minute drive from the property are two towns - Impruneta is particularly beautiful, and it is worth visiting the Grape Festival. The apartment was clean and well decorated with lots of space and a kitchen with everything that is needed to cook. We wish we had stayed longer !

Space around pool is a bit problematic becouse of garden facade is being torn off and mess sunbathing area. This shouldn't stop you to book the place, because everyhing else will compensate this for sure!

Piece of heaven in the middlle of Toscana. Perfect location to explore all around. Apartman was pretty clean and comfortable. The view is more than enough to fall in love in this residence. Clean pool with view on Toscana hills - personaly, this was top of my experiance, although pool was not main factor when we booked the place. Giulio is very good host! I would 100% came back again. Everyrhing was perfect!

The owner, Giulio, has been very accommodating even before my arrival. I was coming from Rome and was running late. I got there at midnight. a quick call and he left the keys outside in a safe place for me to collect. Next morning, I met the man and realized ... humble individual, strive to give service, agricultural background.... now i know where I will book again on my next visit to Florence area. and the place!!! .... just need to see it with your own eyes!!!... Amazing. worth the visit and the stay. Grazie Giulio!! Next time will try also your cuisine

Not really a big issue, but Gulio, the owner, could be very helpful and friendly, to a bit gruff, given the moment of the day. Some would say he is a typical Florentine man of agriculture, which has its charm also 🙂

Very well placed to visit Tuscany (Firenze, Siena, San Gimignano, Chianti) Pool is great, with nice view on the hills, atmosphere is peaceful. Parking is no problem. Houses are nice, basic furniture but comfortable enough. We loved our experience

All over Italy, mosquitos run rampant in Summer. Agriturismo I Poggi is no exception, though the mosquitos actually seemed a bit better there than in other places we stayed. The only trouble was at night, when we left the windows open in our apartment to catch the great breezes. Gulio had installed screens on some windows in our apartment (which was great - screens are fairly rare in Italy) - our only recommendation would be to install screens on all of the windows.

I Poggi is a relaxing and charming place made even better by the wonderful owners, Gulio and Francesca. The setting overlooking the hills outside of Florence is beautiful, and guests are given a very warm welcome. I traveled with a family group including my mobility-impaired mother and my two young boys - everyone felt at home. The pool was a great relief in the heat of the Tuscan summer (we traveled during a heat wave of nearly 100 degrees F), and we did not miss air conditioning during the cool nights. The highlight of our stay was definitely the dinner that Guilo and Francesca prepared for us. We ate multiple courses of wonderful food prepared on site with ingredients (oil, wine) from the farm, all at an outstanding value. I cannot recommend I Poggi highly enough.

This is a review, so it is personal / subjective. It describes our unique experience and we can understand and respect that others may have had far better experiences out there. We do not argue that. For us, it was a mix of greater expectations, a bit of bad luck and a very poor communication (the host was rather private, absent and hard to communicate with). We, as a family with kids, had a truly disappointing experience. We are sure they can do better and we hope they will consider this honest feedback. 1. We did not find the healthy environment one could look for when booking a vacation in the countryside. The landscape is truly beautiful, wild, with lots of olive trees and creatures (from the usual cat and dog to the mosquitos, lizards and many others that you can expect in the middle of the nature). Still, the property is not well looked after; at the inside, the apartment we got smelled really bad - like old and probably mold (no visible mold though). 2. We did not find a real restaurant at the property. One could not have regular access to breakfast, lunch or even dinner. They should not label it as a restaurant. We asked in writing whether we can have lunch and dinner at the restaurant, but we did not get an answer; we asked again upon arrival and we were only told about dinner around 8 PM (no mentions about any closing days). We assumed it would be open daily or at least the whole Weekend. Then we were left without food on a Sunday night, because the restaurant was closed. It was Sunday evening, markets were closed, no available restaurants nearby, we could not find any decent food after 45 min of driving in the neighborhood and eventually we had to call it a night for our hungry kids that barely ate some left porridge. 3. Very bad communication. Almost non-existent. I think this was the worst part. They did not feel any responsibility to share with us some problems that were affecting us directly.

Beautiful, wild landscape. Original building. Tuscan style architecture. Some nice spots to take pictures outside (Olive trees, an old and still in use Vespa, a nice terrace). At First, we thought the Vespa was for rent, we apologize for jumping on with pictures. It is the owner’s private piece and it is beautiful. :) Pretty close to Florence (approx. 25 min by car, on the highway - must pay tax). Close to some small towns (4 min by car). Beds were Ok (except for the pillows). Big Kitchen with dining area (table and chairs). Private apartment (private entry).

Breakfast was really basic (toast with jam, croissant and tea/coffee). There are some small details that cost close to nothing, but can make a difference (e.g. making a pack of napkins / paper roll or fresh foil available in the kitchenette). If you are staying in the ground floor rooms south of the restaurant, please keep in mind you would hear every step of the guest on the upper floor.

Location is nice and very convenient to visit Florence. Giulio and his wife are very kind and welcoming. The place itself is quiet and suited for prolonged stays.
