How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewLovely location with a beautiful view and wonderful hosts who grow lots of produce and share a huge spread for breakfast each morning. They even offered us homemade gelato made from peaches they grow on the property when we returned from dinner. One of my favorite stays ever!

Verified reviewSecond stay at this delightful BnB in the Italian countryside. Situated on a hazelnut and peach orchard with chickens in the yard and a beautiful vista down the valley. Room was spacious with lovely view and good wifi and air-conditioning. A substantial breakfast with eggs and fruit and beautiful homemade conserves and cake was provided by the friendly generous hosts.

Verified reviewExcellent selection of foods and drinks at breakfast. Most or all was produced locally and/or by the proprietor. The food was tasty and plentiful. We received all that we asked for and more. The family running the farm were very friendly and accommodating. I can say without hesitation that our stay at Al Canei was by far the best we have stayed at in many years. We would heartily recommend this wonderful piece of paradise to anyone.

Verified reviewThe breakfasts were wonderful, particularly since it was homemade. The location in rural but close to Asti, so getting into town was quick and easy. Eva and Simon were wonderful hosts.

Verified reviewSimone and Eva were the BEST hosts ever!!! We had car trouble in Asti, miles from the BnB, and Simone came out to help us, staying over two hours to help communicate with the car rental company. He then arranged for a family friend to come into town and take us to the BnB (rental car went away). Then Simone and Eva made us dinner the first night, exceptional food and wine, to help us get over losing our car. They went way above and beyond to help us, and we will be forever grateful for their hospitality and generosity!!!

Verified reviewEverything at the property is fabulous. Eva and Simone are amazing hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. The views from their home are amazing. Lovely to see all of their hard work paying off with the smooth running of the B&B and their farm areas. Fantastic home produced wine, fruit, veg, eggs, preserves and chutneys. Eva gave us the most amazing breakfast before we left, couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Getting to the property was a little awkward but good directions given by the hosts and the offer of coming to get us if we got a little lost was appreciated, but we didn’t need it.

Verified reviewHosts, Simon and Eva very hospitable and accommodative. Owners are a family with ongoing tradition in agriculture. The premise is a traditional country house, well renovated, with a lovely veranda facing the cultivated hill side. Enjoyed so many top family products from their plantation at the rich home-made breakfast! If you like an accommodation immersed in the magnificent Piemonte countryside, this is the one.
Nothing minor can bypass this so hospitable experience!

If you are on a motorbike, the last 2-300 meters are gravel, if you take it easy you will be fine.

On short notice they organized a dinner appetizer with homegrown products from their farm and garden and traditional pasta they make, very delicious. Also breakfast was very good, with specialties from the region, home baked tarts, sweets, seasonal fruits and lots of other choices. Amazing. The B&B is located near Asti for sightseeing but still rural enough to enjoy quiet nights.
