How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Only downside was the Loft room floorboards were very loud and squeaky so you could even hear when the neighbouring room were walking around. But this was probably due to the age of the rooms and wasn't a deal breaker for us.
We were x3 adults so finding a semi-private shared room was very hard in Florence. This hotel offered a Loft type room which was perfect! The style of the room was charming and was split over two levels which was just what we needed. Location was convenient and easy to get to, lots of good restaurants around. The breakfast was our favourite, plenty of beautiful, fresh pastries and some hot food too. The kitchen staff were very attentive and friendly every morning which was superb. The desk staff were also very friendly and helpful even with the slight language barrier. Would definitely reccomend this place to anyone heading to florence.

It was the cutest hotel with such a great location! It’s very close to the train station, and within walking distance of all the tourist attractions. The staff were super friendly, and the hotel was very clean and well kept. They have great services (such as an included breakfast, luggage storage, and even a free drink during happy hour).

Lovely small hotel withing 10 minutes walk of main train station in Florence. reception staff friendly with good english. room was clean with very comfortable bed and pillows. shower was very good. Breakfast was excellant with very welcoming freindly staff. Great location in florence within 10-15 minute walk to all the major attracions. Very secure ugguge room available. Happy hour in bar.

Our room was lovely, we had 001 with the second level and a beautiful balcony. Breakfast was lovely and had a great selection. Brilliant location to explore the city from, walking distance from sites, lots of great restaurants and the train station. Happy hour! Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location a few minutes walk from the airport tram and 15 minutes from the Duomo. The room looked onto the central courtyard and was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff very friendly. The Hotel Alba Palace is a perfect place to stay in Florence.

Nothing to complaint about. It was easy to arrive from the train station and it was a 10 minute walk to the Duomo and there were ample restaurants nearby. So, no problems.
Room perfect size for one person. Breakfast was plentiful and well served by a very friendly staff. Location couldn't be better. Bathroom was good size. Immaculate rooms.

Convenient location, a few minutes to the Firenze Santa Maria Novella station and most major attractions are only 10-15 minutes away. Great restaurants nearby. Room was spacious, especially the room with a bathtub. Friendly & helpful staff.

The shower had collapsible doors and I always got water on the floor. The beds were a bit firm for me but that’s personal preference.
Excellent location. Very close to the train station. Exceptionally clean. It was like a breath of fresh air after being in Rome. Cool breeze coming in the window at night. Front desk staffed 24/7. The breakfast lady in the morning is lovely. Great breakfasts too. We loved this place!

"I stayed at this place recently and was really impressed by how clean the rooms were and how tasty the breakfast was. It's super close to the train station and there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby, which made everything really convenient."
