How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewI liked the hotel staff. They were very friendly. The room was good. The hotel was close to the city center. One can take a water bus from there.
There was no kitchen. Water was there. A refrigerator was there.

Verified reviewthe hotel building was very authentic both inside and out, the girl who met us was very nice and even helped with our luggage, the room was small but had two beds, a washbasin and even a shower (albeit small), the toilet was in a separate room not far from the room. overall it was relatively clean, but keep in mind that this is a one-star hotel and you shouldn't expect the same cleanliness and comfort as in a five-star hotel. of course the room, furniture and the hotel itself are very old, but come on, this is Venice.

Verified reviewPerfect location, close to Piazzale Roma. Easy to arrive or leave from there by bus from the airport, boat, rental car. The street is not too busy but easy to walk everywhere. Great breakfast place, very close on the same street. Cozy rooms, everything needed was there. A/C worked great. Very nice staff.
Don't expect huge rooms. It's an old building with small rooms. No elevator. We didn't miss anything though.

Verified reviewIt was such an amazing spot, where it's located and the hotel itself. It was really easy to self check in and the room was very spacious and had a little private balcony.
One of the nicest spots I've stayed in the last few trips I have had

Verified reviewMy favourite part of this property was the fabulous rooftop terrace that we had all to ourselves.
Super comfy beds, clean facilities, Gabrielle was a fantastic host who helped us with baggage and local information (restaurants, sights, transport & tips), the delicious breakfasts and by far, the rooftop terrace.

Mattresses on single beds felt too thin, didn’t offer much support. Would be ok for kids, but not comfortable for adults.

Verified reviewGreat location. Close to the.main train station. Very welcoming staff. A small room, but it was very tastefully decorated. Air conditioning was a bonus as it was hot at night. They allowed us leave our luggage after we'd checked out and even to use the WC until we caught our train.
There is no.lift and we were on the 3rd floor. Manager actually helped by carrying my wife's suitcase up to our room. We had an outdoor terrace, which was a bonus, but it was in desperate need of maintenance to lift it up to the standard.of the rest of the hotel.

Verified reviewVery friendly and responsive staff. We had the family room for 4 people, it is small and basic, but clean and comfortable and the air conditioning in the room worked well. Better than we had expected. Nice location and convenient to the bus and train station (about 10min walk). Good value overall for Venice and a good option for a basic quick stay on a budget with easy access to the train and airport bus.
Shower is bad - very low water pressure and can only use the hand-held wand since the knob to switch to shower head is broken. Mini fridge in the room is not cold at all. Wifi is very slow, but there was a strong signal in the room.

Verified reviewLocation is good, some 10 minutes from Piazzale Roma (convenient, because we arrived by shuttle from the airport). There are many restaurants and some shops around.
The hot water was not working properly. In more than one occasion, we could not take showers because there was not hot water. Although the property tried, the boiler did not work. Also, the room was quite noisy, the window has a view to the backyard of a restaurant and it made a lot of noise.

Verified reviewIt was a quiet location, away from the crowds at Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square but still accessible by airport bus. The rooms were clean and well-maintained. This is one of the few hotels that allow late check-in, so that was super convenient. Federica was very helpful with all my questions and requests like keeping luggage in the reception for a couple of hours after our checkout.
Our room was on the third floor. There is no lift, and the rooms were not soundproof at all. We could hear everything the neighbours said even at normal volume, even the noise of their walking about.
