Dreadful smelly room with no window

My room was absolutely dreadful and smelly. There was a window blind closed with no possibility to open. It felt like in a basement with no daylight or fresh air. There was an outside metal staircase just behind the window anyway and hotel restaurant itself. People walking to the restaurant were making loud noise. I understand rhe blind because otherwise everybody would walk just in front of my window. That room shouldn't be used for guests in any case. Very, very dissapointed!!!

    Breakfast was ok

Breakfeastwas included and started at 7 or 7:30. While ok for most people, for pelligrinos walking the Way of St Francis an earlier time would be better. Perhaps they could leave a breakfast out as some other pilgrim friendly places do.

The location was right on the main square and mall. It was very reasonably priced given the great room

The view wasn’t very good as it looked out onto the restaurant so had to have the curtains drawn the whole time. Wasn’t keen on the coffee and orange juice at breakfast as they came from self-service machines. I would have preferred freshly made.

The bed was comfortable. The cakes at breakfast were delicious!

Everything was good, except he guy in the breakfast room, he needs to be more friendly... looks like a police officer watching you all time. :-)

The lady in the front desk always was friendly and supportive.

Wifi did not work in room; indifferent desk staff; the albergo itself is through an emergency entrance-like door and up a very steep (mountain climbing-like) staircase above the restaurant.

The breakfast was good and the service there attentive. Room clean and spacious. Quiet

It can be a bit tricky to find. Its main entrance is not on Piazza dei Leoni; it is on Via Federici. You can get into the hotel through its Restaurant dei Leoni, on the Piazza, but only when the restaurant is open. The rest of the time you need to enter from Via Federici.

Outstanding value for the location. Very comfortable room and very professional staff. The restaurant exits on the Piazza at one end of a great pedestrian strip with lots of great bars which give customers great free food with drinks during happy hour.

In the write up about the property it stated that it was only 0.5 miles from the train station, this is not the case it would be a good 40/45 minute walk over hilly terrain and a lack of pavements. Certainly not suitable for anyone with walking issues.

The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was well stocked and maintained. it was super clean too.

Italy has been at the forefront of population shifts Eastwards and the character of the town has changed to reflect that, and not always for the better.

WE have been coming here for almost a decade and welcome its consistency. It is at the heart of the town.
