We usually stay in 5 star hotels but were attracted to the location. Property was pared down but beautifully simple and very clean. The restaurants tasting menu was of a very high standard and views over the bay outstanding. The staff were both friendly and knowledgeable. They arranged transfers seamlessly and we arrived safely even after a two hour delay. Fresh gluten free Italian cake for me everyday at breakfast. The castle in itself is very interesting and there is a good gift shop-I bought all my presents from there.

Breakfast was very limited. No cooked food and no toaster for not very good gluten free bread. Rooms are very small and as a woman no where to sit and put makeup on and dry hair. I took my Dyson hairdryer for speed of drying and was glad I did as hairdryer was old and v slow. No Orono g board but I didn’t request so there may have been one. No facility for making yeast/coffee. These points though didn’t spoil what was a great trip and may just have been a reflection of the hotel being three star. I would recommend and would stay again.

Amazing location with spectacular views. Delicious, if somewhat enormous tasting menu in the main restaurant. Romantic place. Very helpful staff.

Rooms are simply furnished but that’s fine given it’s in a historic monument. Otherwise everything was fine.

Everyone who worked here was so incredibly kind!! The staff was amazing and the LOCATION!! We were nervous the castle would be busy or super touristy but that wasn’t the case at all. We visited in late August and it felt like we were the only ones there. The castle is absolutely gorgeous and has so many fun hidden spots within it - galleries, art studios, gardens, terraces, food spots, and of course, take your breath away views at every angle. It was also so nice to be in the heart of Ischia Ponte and everything it has to offer. Oh and breakfast is delicious :) Absolutely recommend!!

Had the most wonderful stay. Such a beautiful location. We had a room with a sea view and the views were spectacular. All staff were extremely helpful, breakfast and drinks were all amazing. Products provided in the room were really lovely too.

Our stay at the Albergo Il Monastero was just outstanding. The staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble - we arrived early and were made very comfortable and offered refreshments. The room (Suite 8) was just beautiful with beautiful furnishings and an amazing terrace. We had the pleasure of eating in the outstanding restaurant and spent time in the gardens and the outside terrace. Having access to the wider Castle and grounds was an added extra and made for a great day. I would go back in a heartbeat!

    Nothing!

Staying at the Aragonese Castle was an unforgettable experience – one that words can hardly capture. I have loved this place ever since I first stepped inside, and on my sixth visit I finally had the chance to stay overnight. Experiencing the castle after dark was truly magical. From our balcony, we enjoyed breathtaking views over Ischia Porto, and our room was both beautiful and wonderfully comfortable. Another highlight was access to the private gardens, normally closed to the public but open to overnight guests. They are absolutely enchanting, and wandering through them felt like discovering a hidden treasure. Breakfast was also outstanding – fresh, high-quality ingredients and flavors that left us speechless. This place has completely captured our hearts. In fact, during our stay here we even got engaged, making it all the more special. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the unforgettable memories – we cannot wait to return.

The Albergo II Monastery is a magnificent blend of history and hospitality - an old Monastery and caslte lovingly converted into a hotel. The setting is stunning, with breathtaking gardens and panoramic views over the island that are simply unforgettable (especially if you are there on the Feast of St Anna - amazing view on the fireworks). The food is outstanding: organic refined, flavorful, and of an exceptional quality. The staff are warm, attentive and go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The design and aesthetics are nice, creating an elegant and serene atmosphere. Overall, a beautiful and memorable stay.

It is a little sad that the building's original monastic identity has been almost entirely erased - especially in such a historic comple, in a country with deep Catholic roots like Italy. The rooms, while comfortable, could benefit from slight renovations to add more "wow" factor, comfort and a stronger sense of character. Another thing I appreciated a bit less, is the numerous notifications I received via booking.com before arrival (almost 2 per week).
