Unfortunately the food is not very good. Breakfast is fine but best to skip the evening meal and eat somewhere local. As previous reviews have stated most people staying there were Italian or German and older. This is not a hotel for children. As we were also older we loved the peace that a good old fashioned thermal spa brings.

Make sure to ask for a room with a sea view and balcony in the main hotel as this is served by a lift. The pools in the hotel are wonderful, hot sea water with bubbles and water spouts, 2 inside and 4 outside, magnificent. There is a local bus stop right outside the hotel and the hotel provides a shuttle to the nearest ferry terminal and nearest village. The view by the main pool is wonderful, it looks over the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius as did our room.

- Avoid the massages at the spa. I tried an Ayurveda massage but was super disappointed. The lady was rude, she did not cover me with anything so I had to ask to be covered, the oil was of poor quality, and smelled cheap perfume and not Ayurveda clearly. She started by putting oil all over my body and then massaged me part by part, no strength and did not ask me once how was the pressure. The music was nothing but relaxing. When she finished she left the room and then while I was putting back my clothes she entered without knocking. Not professional at all! - The restaurant is opening late for families. Breakfast starts at 8 am, lunch at 1 pm and dinner at 8 pm. Conscious Italians eat later but it would be nice to offer some earlier options for children, particularly evenings so they can go to bed at normal hours.

- Rooms are nice and modern, the shower could be improved with a shower head (it only had main jet so really not ideal for showering kids). - In general the staff was professional and friendly, they gave our two daughters a large chocolate egg for Easter :) such a kind gesture - The pools are great and warm which is lovely for the spring/fall. - The food in the restaurant is delicious and they offer many options.

The beds were OK but not awesome, and the pillows need replacing. The pools could be open a little later too. However I would highly recommend this hotel and return there myself.

The hotel manager and staff were great, the pools and thermal baths were a real treat and our room with a terrace was fantastic. The view was breathtaking. The breakfast was sufficient and also had a lovely view. Really a fantastic stay and a great island to visit.

swimming pool was the best in my opinion, very well looked after from morning to night. Felt almost like at a spa with a beautiful view of the mountain in front. Also the location is brilliant, just a couple minutes walk down to the beach where you can swim in the sea and its a super relaxing area. Also only a short walk from the town (forgotten the name) but it was a great area to stay in for 5 days.

Our room (154) was spacious enough, nice ocean view and balcony. But it was very hot (even when keeping the window open) and the soundproofing very poor, as we could hear everything coming from the corridor or from the neighbours.

The swimming pools above all: the outdoor one was at the right temperature to relax under the stars. If a temperature boost was needed, the inside pools were just perfect. Hotel was full but plenty of space for everyone. Hotel staff very nice and helpful, and overall atmosphere very pleasant, all in Ischia style.

I recommend this hotel. We felt very comfortable here from the moment we arrived. Everything cozy and clean. All the employees from the reception, to the staff in the restaurant and at the bar and especially the cleaning lady were always willing to help with their own problems and make our stay better. What we really appreciated was the choice of menu in the restaurant, where you decide whether you want lunch or dinner. The pool was large and had plenty of sunbeds. It's a big pity that the other spa facilities, such as the showers, the hot tub and the kneipp bath, are on the other side of the hotel and the sun doesn't shine there anymore in the afternoon. A five minute walk from the hotel is the thermal baths of Negombo and on the other hand the small town of Lacco Ameno, so the location of the hotel is amazing. There is also a bus stop right next to the hotel. Although the rooms are smaller, they were enough for a night's sleep. The balcony was large, unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to have a room with a sea view, because it was already occupied, but the view of the garden to the highest mountain, Monte Epomeo, was very nice. We have been to the island for several times, but this is the first time in this hotel and we will definitely use it for our next stay.

The front desk was poor. The language barrier was exacerbated by lack of friendly efforts/lack of information. We were greeted by a woman who told us she wasn’t feeling well!

Service at main meals times was a bit frantic and I feel like they could benefit from having an extra server in the dining room. The wait staff work really hard, and it shows. The spa could also be improved a bit - we both had several treatments and they weren't the most relaxing we've ever had. The whole experience is quite clinical and perfunctory, rather than luxurious.

This is a really clean, well-run hotel that has a relaxed, family feel. It's clear that some guests have been coming here for years. The views from the property are outstanding, and it has really great thermal facilities if that's what you're after in Ischia - while the property is adjacent to Negombo Thermal Park, we didn't even feel the need to go - the hotel had everything! There are so many pools and places to sit out in the beautiful garden. Really reasonable priced food at the hotel. Loved how they kept bottles of wine and water for people at dinner/lunch for your next meal. The centre of Lacco Ameno is easily reached on foot in 10 minutes, although the hotel also offers a shuttle. We also walked to Forio through lovely woodland from the hotel, so it's really well placed for exploring the island. Lovely housekeeping and front of house staff.

Excellent sleeping, good bed, firm mattress. Silent and efficient air condition. Calm surroundings, no noise. Clean room, clean bathroom, excellent room cleaning service. Food is wonderful, rich breakfast, you will not be disappointed. Dinner is very good also, the price for the menu is very good. How many pools can you use? I think it was 8 that they have. The hotel has a charming atmosphere, not the usual chain you find all around the world. Very personal. I can only recommend. Great staff. Very nice beach within 5 min of walking, shallow water, excellent swimming. Lots of restaurants in Lacco Ameno nearby, just a few minutes walking.

You don't need a 5-star hotel to have fantastic holidays! St. Lorenzo has everything you need: increadibly nice staff (mainly at the reception and the hotel's driver), rich and good breakfast, comfortable beds, well-maintained gardens and especially an AMAZING swimming pool. The room was nice with a big porch with the island view, but a bit old, the water in the shower where moving from hot to cold was a bit challenging. we loved the outdoor and indoor pools. The service was great everyone were kind and answered any question we had.
