Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Saudi ArabiaThe restaurant was OK quality, but not impressive.
The breakfast was amazing with different varieties of sweet & savory dishes with different delightful drinks options The view was one of the views to die for . The survice of carrying luggage to the hotel from the port is a must .

Very nice hotel. Good location. Close enough to walk but far enough out of the crazy downtown crowds.

CanadaWe noticed a lot of noise through the walls from our neighbouring suite. We could even hear the cleaners next door very clearly in the morning. I know it's an old hotel but this might be something to consider renovating.
Tucked up the hill and slightly more away from central Positano, this is a great place to relax and enjoy some stunning private views of Positano away from the crowds. We felt very well taken care of by all the staff and enjoyed a nice slow dinner at the on-site restaurant. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar area.

AustraliaIt is quite a walk from the centre on town, so be prepared for a fair few stairs. Jacuzzi was also temporarily unheated during our stay. They couod possibly include a little more seeing as how expensive it is to book, possibly a transfer from the ferry port.
The hotel was beautiful and had a lovely view from the balcony. Breakfast was also nice and staff were helpful.

Australiathe hotel was blaring music outside our room until 11.30pm when it quieted down a bit but it was impossible to sleep until it stopped. also, the hotel is up significant stairs. even if you have a taxi drop you off as close as possible, there are several stairs to walk up. after dripping with sweat carrying our luggage up the stairs, the staff then informed us that they have people to carry it up for us. - it would have been nice to know that before-hand.

United Stateshundreds of stairs to get up to get there. you can stay at a property whose ground floor is level with the street…you have to climb hundreds of stairs to get to the ground floor of property. this track up to the hotel discourages leaving to actually explore the area …we stayed in every evening bc the idea of doing the stairs again was unreal. don’t stay here if you’d like to explore. also the rooms were tiny for 800euros a night this place is egregiously overpriced. Also there is 1 women at the front desk in the day and 1 at night neither like guests.
beautiful property great view

AustraliaRoom was underwhelming. Reception staff weren’t very personable. The 108 steps up to the hotel were a killer. They do have porters for your bags but even without luggage it was a quick workout each time you left your hotel room.
Restaurant and terrace view. Restaurant staff were fantastic. Food was amazing.

Canadai booked a room with a ocean facing terrace and there was a huge tree blocking 30% of my view. it also cost 50 Euros a day to park my rental car. there are many stairs to reach the hotel from the Parking area. i kind of enjoyed the exercise, but it’s not for everyone.
great views, and it was quiet. i was also able to walk directly to the beach after going down many stairs.

United StatesThis goes without saying in Positano, but it's a bit of a hike to get up to the hotel, so make sure you're comfortable with steps and walking up hills.
The views were absolutely stunning! The rooms were a little small but clean and cute. The staff was super helpful and friendly! The bartender (I forgot his name) was especially nice.

United StatesNothing!
The property was very clean and the view was amazing! Our room had a private terrace overlooking the water and it was just beautiful at sunset and the evening hours also. We had dinner on the beautiful outside dining area overlooking the water and Positano. Breakfast was delicious too. We appreciated the porters carrying our bags up and down for us.

CanadaAll "economy" rooms are on a level below the restaurant. There was a wedding in the restaurant on our first night and it was very loud. We could hear every footstep, every time a table or chair was moved, etc. Staff said they could accommodate us at a "reduced" rate to get out of the lower level, which equated to a minimum of an additional 50% above our room rate already. Understandably, we declined as this was already the most expensive hotel of our trip, which included a weekend stay in Capri. Thankfully, the other two nights were not as loud.
Location to Fornillo Beach was really good. Also nice to be "close' distance to the bus stop for us to get to Praiano. Breakfast buffet was really great, especially the beignets when they were available.
